For me, there are few things in life that are as wonderful as waking up in my own bed, in my own home instead of some crappy hotel bed while on tour. Things like going on early morning walks with Duke, watching as the sun begins to dawn, lighting the sky up with an array of beautiful pastel colors some days and warm, vibrant colors on others. Another wonderful thing is getting on stage, performing the songs me and my best friends had put so much time and effort into perfecting, listening to the fans cheer and sing along. Going home to Australia and seeing my family, or seeing Mali whenever I found myself in London or when she was in LA.

Life was full of all these great things, but nothing was quite as pleasing to the soul as waking up in my bed underneath the warmth of the Los Angeles morning sunlight that was peeking through the curtains. And absolutely nothing in the world compared to finding myself in bed next to Elizabeth after being away from her for so long.

Opening my eyes the tiniest bit, I looked over at Liz, smiling softly at the way she slept, taking a mental picture I hoped I wouldn't ever forget. Her long eyelashes were pressed against the soft skin of her cheek, plump lips closed and her beautiful hair sprawled out on the pillow she laid her head upon. She laid on her stomach, arms folded underneath the pillow that was on what she had unofficially claimed as her side of my bed, the white sheets covering from the middle of her back to her ankles.

I scooted closer to Liz, kissing her bare shoulder blade oh so gently and wrapping my arm around her middle, as I laid my head next to hers. I felt her shift under the weight of my arm, turning her head to face me. She peeked one eye open, humming with a content smile on her face before closing it again and nuzzling her nose against mine and her forehead pressed against mine as well.

Liz's lips grazed over mine, sending bolts of lightning through my body as she touched me. She smiled smugly upon feeling me shiver against her, knowing full well just how much she affected me. Done with her teasing, I fully pressed my lips against hers, moaning softly at the way her soft lips instantly moved against mine. My eyelashes fluttered against her cheeks, tickling her and causing her to quietly giggle into the sweet kiss we shared.

After a moment of sharing morning kisses, I pulled away, turning over to lay on my back once again. Liz followed me to my side of the bed, her fingertips moving like a feather over my naked abdomen as she wrapped her arm around me, wrapping her leg around mine.

My large hand came to the back of her head, running my fingers through her messy bed-head. Liz pressed a kiss to my pectoral muscle, eyes still closed as she basked in the soft and calming presence I had to offer. "Good morning," Liz mumbled, her words so quiet they were almost incoherent.

"Mornin', baby girl." My voice was raspy and sleepy. I turned my head back to her, kissing her forehead. Liz opened her eyes and looked up at me, bringing her hand up to cup my jaw, running her thumb over my stubbly jaw.

"I love waking up next to you, ya know?"

"I could say the exact same to you," I whispered, leaning down to kiss her once again. Instead of one, long kiss, I placed a series of quick pecks on her puckered lips. She laughed against me once again, unable to contain the feeling of raw happiness that I gave her.

"What do you want to do on your first day home, Cal?" She murmured in between kisses. Her hand moved from my face to the back of my head, her fingernails scratching at my scalp before tugging at the dark curls, reveling in the pleasured groan I released at her actions.

Moving so she was underneath me, I hovered over Liz's body, holding myself up on my forearms. I checked her facial expressions to make sure she was okay with this, not sure how she was feeling about me hanging above her, but she was still smiling. Her leg wrapped around my own, her toes curling into my calf. "Let's just stay here and do this all day. Getting out of bed means waking up and I don't want to wake up, not if you're the dream." I said with a smirk.
