"I'm picking you up in thirty minutes."

"Can't we go just go out another day?"

"Thirty minutes, Liz."

"Okay, okay."

I hung up the phone and somehow managed to drag myself out of bed and into the shower for the first time in three days. Mali was coming to pick me up in thirty minutes for lunch, saying she was worried about me not leaving the house and not eating and taking care of myself. I didn't even know how she knew, but I assumed Calum had called her because he was worried.

I took a quick shower before blowdrying my hair and forcing myself in a pair of skinny jeans and big oversized sweater where I could hide in if Mali asked any questions that I wouldn't be comfortable with.

Mali was a sweet, sweet girl who was a few years older than Calum. People always said that Mali was basically Calum's female twin, but I didn't see it. I mean, they had sort of the same nose and same skin tone, but I didn't they looked that much alike.

Her personality matched Calum's more than their looks though, both Hood's are very caring, sweet and would choose others over themselves anytime.

Calum's parents must be like that as well and I was hoping I was going to meet them anytime soon after the tour.

I did a little bit of makeup on to hide the fact that I was mentally exhausted and not worry Mali any more than necessary and texted Calum that I was going to hang out with Mali in a few.

Calum hadn't responded to any of my messages today, so I think he's still sleeping. He finally had a week off tour so I didn't blame him for catching up on some sleep.

Even though he didn't respond, I still updated him with every little thing that I did just to show him that I wasn't decomposing in my bed all day.

Just as I had put on my shoes, Mali walked into the house. Calum had given her a key when he moved in here, knowing that she was the one to be around the most of their family.

"Hey girl, how are you?" she asked as she scratched Duke behind his ears. I shrugged. "Okay, I guess," I told her and she smiled at me. "That's progress. I thought maybe a nice lunch together could help you a bit as well," she said before throwing me my jacket and waiting for me to pull it on.

Yeah, a lunch will definitely fix my depression.

"That's sweet, thank you," I said before saying goodbye to Duke, grabbing my keys and phone and following Mali outside. "Where are we going?" I asked Mali as I opened the door of the passenger side of Mali's car and hopped in.

"There is this cute lunchroom in the hills, it's called Eat This Café, so I'm taking you there. They have the best sandwiches." Mali said.

"Alright, cool," I said as I fastened my seatbelt and staring at the window. I loved car rides, especially the long ones where I could just stare out of the window and think for a while. Mali, instead, was the kind of person who couldn't keep quiet and had to sing along with every song and wanted to know everything about me. It was sweet, but I just wanted peace and quiet.

We drove to the lunchroom that Mali was talking about and walking inside.

I wasn't stupid, I know that Mali was worried about me, of course, I caught her glaring at the bags under my eyes and the way I was basically living inside the hoodie I was wearing and how greasy my hair still was even though I tried my best to wash it just an hour ago. Yeah - I looked like absolute shit.
