Stan Lee was born December 28, 1922, in Manhattan, New York City. It was in 1961 when Lee launched his first comics with artist Jack Kirby. The Fantastic 4. The following success of The Fantastic Four created heroes we love like, Hulk, Spider-man, Doctor Strange, Dare Devil, and the X-Men.
Lee was known for using his comics to tackle real-world problems like bigotry and drug use. Lee later became the Publisher and Editorial Director of Marvel comics in 1972. He then moved to the west coast to become a bigger part in Marvel film ventures and eventually became chairman emeritus.
Stan Lee created heroes that stuck with us in childhood and up. Making us cry with joy, anger, and sadness. His comics and movies played a bigger part in people's lives then intended, and for that, I thank him, for helping create such a wonderful universe full of heroes and villains alike.
May he rest in peace, a hero without a cape, mutant genes or superpowers, but with a mind, pen, and paper.
