"Don't leave me, please!"

AU. Percy is the heir of Atlantia and Annabeth's the princess of Athens. Atlantia and Athens are allies  and neighboring countries. Annabeth has a twin named Malcolm and a baby sister, Lyandra.  Annabeth and Percy have been best friends since they're 12 and started dating on Percy's sixteenth birthday.

Annabeth's POV

I had to do this. I had no choice. I craddle little Lya firmly to my chest and ran through the palacehalls. Mom, Dad, they were gone and that was all the fault of those stupid rebels.
I had to make sure Lya was safe. Percy and Jason would help Malcolm, or at least Jason. He promised it. Percy... He would do whatever is needed to protect everyone and everything. He always does. That's why I love him so much. Well that and the fact that he's just so gentle, caring, handsome, loyal... you get the point.
I hadn't told Percy my plan yet. Pretty late, I know. It's just that... I don't want to hurt him. If he knew my plan he would try to stop me. But I have to do this. To protect Lya. She's only 2 months old. She shouldn't grow up in war.

I continued my way through the corridors untill I was met with the cold air of the garden. I looked down at Lya, who was still sleeping peacefully. A small smile spread on my lips but faded as quickly as it came. I had to go. I opened the door and ran onto the gardens.
Finally I reached the gates. Jason and Percy were waiting for me while Frank stood guard. When he saw me in my cloak and with Lya in my arms, Percy slowly shook his head. He was starting to understand what was happening.
"No...no..."
He whispered. I gave him a small apologetic smile.
"I have to, Seaweedbrain. You know that..."
He shook his head again.
"No! Annabeth, you can't go!You...you can't leave me..."
Tears started to form in my eyes. I didn't want to leave him eather, but those rebels would do anything to kill everyone of the Athenian Royal family.
"We both know I don't want to leave you, either..."
A tear fell on my cheek.
"But I have to... for Lya, for the Athenian people. They need a heir if something will happen to me or Malcolm, which is very realistic now the rebels started their attacks."
Tear after tear fell on my cheek untill I was full on sobbing. I didn't had much time left, but I wanted to stay as long as possible with Percy, my Seaweedbrain.
Percy looked down at me and engulfed me in a hug, carefully to not wake up Lya. I burried my head in the crook of his neck and cried my hart out. I probably woudn't see him for a long time, maybe even never again.
No! I couldn't think that. I had to belief I would see him again . It must.
After a few minutes he pulled away and cupped my face. Slowly he leaned in and kissed me passionately . I savored every little detail of it, from the salty flavour of his lips to the soft touch of his hands on my cheek and waist. Through the kiss I could feel his tears fall on my cheeks. When he pulled away I kissed his tears away.
"I love you, Seaweedbrain."
He smiled a bit but his eyes were still watery.
"I love you, Wisegirl."
I smiled and let go of him.Then I turned to Jason.
"Hey"
I said. He gave me a small smile.
"Hey. You're sure you wanna do this?"
I nodded. Percy came to stand next to me and wrapped his arm around my waist.
"Yeah. But you have to help Malcolm to defeat the rebels and save Athens."
He nodded.
"Of course, I promised it to you, didn't I?
"And I will too."
That was Percy. He smiled lightly at me and squeezed my waist softly.
"I guess this is goodbye then?"
Jason nodded and opened his arms.
"Last hug?"
I smiled and Percy let go of me so I could hug Jason.
"Take care of Percy for me, please?"
I whispered in his ear so Percy wouldn't hear me.
"Don't let him do stupid things that would get him killed."
I felt him nod.
"Always Annabeth, always. Be careful."
I smiled and let go of him. As soon as I was in his reach, Percy wrapped his arm again around my waist. Together we walked to Frank who was standing guard at the outside of the gate.
"Hey"
He looked up at us.
"Annabeth, finally!"
I gave him a small smile.
"So eager to get rid of me?"
He shook his head, smiling.
"Of course not, Anna."
I smiled and hugged him, carefully to not squeeze Lya.
"Hold an eye on Percy, would you? And Malcolm too? I would never forgive myself if something happens while I'm away."
He nodded.
"Okay, but you have to promise me one thing."
"Anything..."
"Don't forget us, please. You will come back don't you?"
I shifted Lya in my arms.
"I hope so. I can't live without Percy. When Lya is old enough and Athens is safe enough for her I will come back."
He smiled.
"Goodbye Annabeth."
"Goodbye Frank"
With that he left, so Percy and I could say goodbye properly.
"I-I-"
I couldn't even say a word before I started crying again. I hugged Percy as hard as I could without squeezing Lya. His arms automatically circled around my waist as he hugged me back. My tears soaked his shirt and I felt him bury his face in my hair. This was not a farewell I remembered myself, just.... a goodbye.
I pulled a bit away so I could see his beautiful face for one last time. His bright sea green eyes were full of tears and his soft pink lips trembled a bit. I leaned in and put my forehead against his.
"I love you, Seaweedbrain. I-I always will, it... it doesn't matter if I'm in an other country o-or not. I always will... promise to remember that..."
My voice broke.
"Please..."
Percy nodded and wiped my tears away, his fingers lingering on my face.
"I will....I promise. And I will always love you, with whole my heart."
I couldn't restrain it anymore and kissed him forcefully on the lips. Everywhere his hands touched my skin, a warm feeling spread through my body. My hand ran through his soft black hair while my lips kissed his feverish.
After a few minutes we pulled away, both out of breath and eyes closed.
I kissed him lightly on his lips for the last time and broke out of his grip.
I looked at him for one last time and ran away. Lya had woken up and started crying. I hugged her closer to my body and tried to calm her down while I ran farther and farther away from the palace,... from Percy. In the distance I heard Percy sobbing and screaming my name, trying to get me back. I turned around and saw Percy being held back by Jason and Frank. It broke my heart.

"I love you, Percy, I love you so so much."

I whispered before I turned back and ran off, tears falling down on my cheeks.

Percy's POV

We pulled away, out of breath and eyes closed. A few second later I felt her soft lips back against mine, kissing me lightly. Then she pulled away and slipped out of my grip. No! She couldn't go away. I needed her, I love her.
I opened my eyes and saw her running away.
"Noooooo!"
I screamed.
"Nooo! Annabeth!!"
I tried to follow her but 2 pair of arms held me back. I looked to my sides and saw Jason and Frank holding me back.I tried to escaped out of their grip but they were to strong.
"Annabeth!!!!"
I started sobbing and tried to escape again but they wouldn't bulge. In the distance I could here Lya crying too.
Finally she turned around. Tears where streaming down her cheeks while she tried to calm her baby sister. She looked at me and whispered something. I couldn't hear her but I knew what she said.

"I love you too, Annabeth"

I whispered and fell down on my knees, sobbing in my hands.

This was a sad one. I don't know when I will update part 2 but it will be a lot happier. Like I told you in my AN yesterday, I'm taking a break until winter break because my exams will start next Friday and I need to study. So I hope you all enjoyed this chapter and I will try to update my next chapter on CHRISTMAS DAY.
