Annabeth's POV

'FINALLY!!'
I thought as I let myself fall on my couch. After an eight hour flight on a super crowded plane and the horrible New York traffic, I was finally back home after a two months long trip to San Francisco for my work. Let just say that working as a CEO of your own architecture company at age of 20 not really relaxing is.
"TRIIIIIIIIIING"
'Who could that be?'
I looked over at the clock at the wall. It read 22:13.
'Who in their right mind would be knocking on my door at this ungodly hour?!'
I walked over to the door and opened it after they knocked for a second time.
'Gods! Why so inpatient!'
I swung the door open, ready to shout at the idiot standing in front of me, but that quickly turned into a high pitched squeal from the twenty-two year old in front of me and a big smile from me.
"Piper!"
I wispered-screamed while we hugged each other.
"Annabeth! I'm so happy you're back!"
She said while I let her inside.
"I missed you so much! You have no idea how much chaos there is without you!"
She said dramatically while she let herself fall on my couch. I laughed at her antics and sat down next to her.
"And how are the preparations going?"
I asked my best friend. She sighed deeply but had a small smile on her lips. It's her wedding after all.
"Hectic, stressful and very chaotic without you, but we managed to get most of it done by now."
I could see the preparations had taken their toll on her, but she looked happy nonetheless.
"Well, I'm here now so you don't have to worry anymore about that stuff. I've taken a break for the next week so I can help you with the preparations and make your last week as an unmarried lady the best as I c-"
She didn't let me finish my sentence because she launched herself at me and hugged the crap out of me.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!"
I laughed and hugged her back, but the look on her face made me frown.
"Come on. Tell me."
I said. Piper tried to give me an innocent look but failed miserably. We have been best friends since we were 15 and 13. She should now by now that she can't fool me anymore.
"I know there is something you want to say. Just say it, you're making me nervous."
Piper sighed and start fiddling with her fingers.
"Remember I told you about Percy?"
I nodded.
"Jason's cousin, right?"
Piper nodded.
"Yeah. I've mentioned he's blind, right?"
I nodded again.
"Well, he's going to be our best man, because , you know, he and Jason are like each other's best friend and brother at the same time and they can't imagine a life without each other and... you know sometimes I really question why those two aren't getting married instead of Jason and I but..."
I laughed at her rambling. She always does that when she's nervous or unsure about something, which didn't really reassure me.
"What I'm trying to say is: normally Sally or Paul would help him and stay with him on such a event, but with him being best men and with Paul and Sally who already have to watch Estelle and them probably wanting to enjoy the evening with the two of them and all that stuff... Would you want to stay with him during the wedding, to make sure he doesn't run into something and help him during the ceremony?"
She asked, biting her lip nervously.
I tried to register what she just said.
'Percy, cousin Jason, blind, help, me. All that rambling for that ONE question?!'
I mentally rolled my eyes at her.
"Sure"
I said.
"Why not. He seems like a nice guy."

Percy's POV

I stood at a railing, my hands folded around it. In the distance I heard my mom and stepdad talking to a very happy Estelle. I smiled at my little sister's rambling about the beautiful flowers she had seen.
On my left I could hear some guests arrive via the aisle. After half an hour I felt a presence next to me. Someone placed their hands a few centimetres from mine on the rail. A scent of lemon entered my nose and I felt a strand of long hair brush my arms.
' a girl. Long hair, probably wavy or even curly, lemon scented shampoo or body lotion'
"Hey"
A soft voice said. It sounded like a angle's. Soft, melodic, with a slight californien accent, but barely noticeable.
"Hey"
I said back, a small smile forming on my lips. It's not everyday that someone starts talking freely to a blind man.
"You're Percy, right?"
She asked, nothing but genuine interest in her voice. I nodded.
"The one and only. With who do I have the pleasure?"
I turned my head in her general direction and gave her my infamous lopsided grin. She giggled softly and something inside me told me she doesn't do that very often.
"Annabeth. Annabeth Chase"
I smiled.
"Pretty name. You're Piper's best friend, right? The maid of honour?"
She smiled and nodded, or that was what I guessed she was doing.
"The one and only"
She recited with a laugh in her voice.
"So... how does it look like?"
I asked, curious about our surroundings. The place my dear cousin had been stressing about the whole month.
"Well, we're standing at a railing with a gorgeous view now. It looks out on the lake. The sunlight reflects beautifully on the water surface with small islands of flowers floating around. White and pink roses with dark green leaves. There is a small beach not far away, a small patio standing on it, decorated with white and golden curtains, fairy lights curled around the wooden beams, white and pink pillows and blankets covering the place."
She paused for a bit. I heard her shuffle a bit. My guess: she turned around to look behind us, the place where the ceremony will be held.
"The whole place is covered with white chairs, each decorated with a white and pink rose. Golden ribbons hanging on each of them. In the middle there is a pathway, the aisle. White and golden tea lights on each side surrounded by white and pink rose peddles. At the end of the aisle there is a wedding arch. A marvellous wickerwork of flowers and ribbons."
Then she sighed.
"But what does it matter, you probably have no idea what I'm talking about."
She said, a small amount of sadness leaking in her voice, as if she was truly sorry that I couldn't see this beautiful view.
"You know,"
I said, a hit of amusement in my voice.
"I haven't been blind for my whole life. I can imagine what you just described. It must look stunning."
She didn't react. I imagine she was to busy staring at me, trying to register what I just said. But I guess I was wrong, when I felt two small hands on my arm, tugging me down to sit on the bench next to us.
"Calm down Estelle!"
I laughed as she put herself in my lap. I heard Annabeth laugh also and felt her sit down next to me, the skirt of what I suppose to be her dress brushing my left leg.
"Who is this pretty lady?"
My younger half-sibling asked me, curiosity filling her voice.
Before I even could say anything, Annabeth beat me.
"I'm Annabeth. And who are you, little princes?"
Estelle giggled and buried herself deeper in my chest.
"I'm Estelle, but Percy calls me Stella, because I'm his little star!"
She exclaimed happily.
This made us both laugh.
"O really? Well then he must be a great older brother."
Estelle nodded and hugged me tightly. How she knows that Estelle's my little sister is, I don't know, but that wasn't important right now.
"Hey Estelle,"
I said to my little sister, who was still buried in my chest.
"Can you describe Annabeth for me, please?"
I felt her nod and she sat herself upright on my lap.
"Well she reminds me of a princess. She has long curly blond hair that reaches her waist and two strands of her hair are clipped together with a hairpin in the shape of an owl, like Mommy did with my hair. Her dress is like all the other dresses of the bridesmaids but then grey. It's the same colour as her eyes. They look a bit like silver but lighter. She's gorgeous!"
Yeah, I know, for a six year old she can describe things very well, but she's used to it with me being blind and stuff. Also Annabeth must be beautiful. Even without hearing Estelle's description, I would have guessed she was beautiful. Her honey laced voice, friendly but also a bit sassy character (from what I have seen until now) and something told me she's extremely smart too.
"You look beautiful, Annabeth."
I said, only genuine honesty in my voice.
"She's just exaggerating."
Annabeth said, her voice a bit unsteady.
"I'm not gorgeous. I'm just your typical blond nerd."
I felt Estelle shaking her head and giggling softly.
"You made her blush, Percy"
She whispered in my ear and with that she jumped off of me and ran towards what I suppose to be Mom. In the distance I heard some music, indicating that the wedding would start soon.
"That's our cue"
Annabeth said, probably with a smile on her face. We both stood up.
"Can you lead me?"
I asked her, holding my hand out.
"Yeah, sure"
She laced her soft fingers with mine and lead me in the direction of the music.
"I know Piper asked you to babysit me... I must be a burden for you"
I said, not really sure how I felt about that.
I heard the ringing of her earrings, indicating she shook her head.
"No! Of course not. I don't mind at all. Also it gives me the chance to get to now you. You seemed like such a nice guy in Piper and Jason's stories. I always wanted to meet you one day..."
"So you don't care that I'm blind?"
I asked, sort of unbelievingly.
"Not at all. Why would the fact that you're blind influence my decision on wanting to meet you?"
She answered, her voice full of disbelief at my statement and full of genuine interest.

"Alright, if you could visite only one place, what would it be?"
I asked her. We were playing twenty-questions to get to know each other better. We have been chatting the whole day and we're sort of friends now, I think.
"The Parthenon!"
She didn't even think about that one.
"The one in Greece?"
"Is there any other?"
She said with a duh tone. I laughed and I just knew she rolled her eyes at me.
"Stop rolling your eyes like that. They're going to get stuck one day."
"How'd you know I rolled my eyes?"
She asked surprised.
"A sixth sense"
Was all I answered.
"Now why the Parthenon?"
She thought for a moment.
"Well I have always been interested in the Greek Mythology. My Mom was Greek so we talked Ancient Greek too. But now she's gone, I don't really have someone to talk with since my dad doesn't speak Greek, neither does the rest of my family. But what I was saying, just like my Mom I always liked the Greek culture and well, I'm obsessed with architecture, so it is kind of logical for me to want to see the Parthenon, but what really make me want to go is my mom's promise..."
"What did she promise you?"
I image her giving me a sad smile.
"She always promised me that we would visite the Parthenon when I was old enough, but she died before we could go... a drunk driver on a snowy day"
I squeezed her hand.
"Who knows, maybe we'll visite it in the future?"
"We? As in you and me?"
"Euhu. I wouldn't want to miss your reaction when you see it for the first time!"
I exclaimed. We chatted and laughed the whole evening. People started dancing and more and more alcohol was consumed. Amid the evening, Annabeth grabbed my hand and pulled me away from the dance floor we were dancing on.
"Woh! We're are we going?"
I asked her laughing. We weren't drunk, just a bit tipsy.
"You'll see"
She said laughingly, but corrected herself after a second thought.
"Well not see, but you now what I mean."
Her fingers were laced with mine as she lead me towards the lake. I may be blind, but I'm not stupid. I could hear the water. When I felt the sand at our feet, I knew where we were heading.
"The patio"
She giggled and pulled me along with her.
"Watch our for the step."
She said as she helped me up the patio. We sat down on the cousions, her head resting on my shoulder, our fingers still laced together.
"It's beautiful right now with the moon shining on the lake."
I hummed and closed my eyes (it's not like I could see anything anyway)
"Describe it to me"
I felt her smile.
"Remember how I described it a few hours ago?"
I nodded.
"Well it's even more breathtaking now. Along with the roses, there are also floating candles, making the scene even more romantic and beautiful. The moon reflects perfectly on the surface, creating sparkles everywhere you look. The candles on the beach are lighting the pathway and the fairy lights, here at the patio, finish it all. You can also see all the stars. It's just... amazing. I wish you could see it."
She sighed and laid herself on her back. I followed her actions and laid back with my hands folded under my head.
"With your description, I can at least imagine it in some way. It sounds beautiful"
"It is"
