The forest was quiet, as it should be. No people around. I continued along the dirt path until I came across the three pines that I recognized clearly. They were the only three trees in this realm that had red leaves as opposed to green. To anyone else, it would just be an oddity. But I'm not just anyone. I'm the only one to realize that the three trees form a kind of arrow in the way they are places in relation to each other. The reason nobody guessed this before was likely because outside of the valley, there were miles upon miles of empty forest that only had a few structures connected by dirt paths. Nobody cared enough to explore beyond.
I went around the three trees in the direction they pointed; west. It's a good thing there isn't a viable way for someone to track me without my knowing. Tracks disappear in a matter of seconds. I stalked along the same hidden path that I have stalked a hundred times before. Weaving around trees for over an hour, I came across the structure I was looking for. A small destroyed house that can't be seen above the treetops. There was nothing particularly special about the house except for one feature. It had a completely intact basement.
I flipped my long black hair over my right shoulder, I walked a few steps before thinking again. I wasn't in a good mood today. I instead took my hair and tied it into a ponytail behind my head, letting a few strands escape and fall across my face. Rolling my shoulders and straightening my back, it was time to get down to business.
I stepped down the wooden stairs of the abandoned house. There was a large room with a single door. The room was dim, but everything was still visible. It was the same temperature as it was outdoors. I stared at the door for a moment. He knew I was here, I'm just adding a little dramatic effect.
I walked slowly to the door, making sure my footsteps could be heard from the inside. I gripped the knob and slowly twisted it, letting the door creak as it opened. I took a few steps into the the room behind the door. The door closed silently behind me.
“Welcome back.” I was greeted by the calm voice of a restrained man, his arms locked above his head so his body hung from the ceiling. He had armor that was really just cloth that took a metallic shine. His legs were abnormally thin and pale even though the rest of him was relatively in proportion. He had long untangled brown hair and dark brown eyes. He wore a poker face. I stared at him with my red eyes. One of the few gifts this man has bestowed upon me. Through my red eyes, I could see a person's name, their health, kills, cash, even the perk that they used. I didn't need to ask the new recruit his name. In fact, I had already forgotten it. But I will remember once I see his name floating above his head.
“Where are they?” I asked sternly, resting my unwavering gaze into his eyes. I crossed my arms on my chest as I waited for a response.
“Where are what?” He asked innocently. He initially wore a Chinese dragon head mask, but I had taken it off long long ago. It was still sitting in perfect condition on the table to my right. But because it wasn't damaged and the man still alive, it didn't appear on his head after roughly half an hour. That was convenient.
“You know what I mean, Alexx. Where are they?”
He sighed. “You're no fun.”
“If you’d do what I asked, maybe Ii will let you go.” I bargained. I was a good liar, or at least I thought so.
“That's what you said last time.”
“Hm... I don't know… Maybe if you make me a new goodie, I'll consider it for real.”
He said in his usual monotone, “Oh boy, what would that be?”
I wasted no time. I didn’t want to be here longer than I had to be. “I want a new weapon. Small enough to fit in the palm of my hand. I was thinking a pair of scissors. Dark steel with a deadly black fog.”
Alexx rose an eyebrow. “That's it? And if I say no?”
I unsheathed my Darkheart. “Then I guess I'll try out an effect I don't use very often… I've tested it on a few people and they gave some very delicious screams.” The air around my black blade glowed. All the colors of the rainbow combined into one swirling mass coming out of my sword. The Astral effect. The pinnacle of them all, and by far the most painful. Alexx looked at it blankly.
He gave another long sigh. “Alright, whatever. At least it isn't too absurd.” The air around him vibrated. A moment later, a thin pair of scissors fell to the ground before him. He was out of breath from using his power in corporeal form. While in a physical body, his powers are limited. He can only create, and with great difficulty at that. If he were in his non-corporeal form, then he would regain all of his powers. He could create and destroy with ease. The only way he can return to that form is if his physical body were to die. He can only be killed by a weapon specifically created by him. Which is why he will agree to this request. But if he were to die, no doubt he would destroy me in an instant for everything that I have done to him.
I stepped forward and picked the scissors off the ground. They were exactly how I asked, and they fit into my fingers perfectly. They gave off a black fog that trailed behind it when it moved. I twisted them back and forth, observing every detail. They were sharp. Very sharp. I applied my ability to them and floated them into the air. With speed faster than the eye can see, they whipped around the room with extreme precision. It was perfectly in my control. This ability was the second gift I “convinced” Alexx to give me after a particularly long torture session. It is one of a kind, nobody else had it. Partially why it was so dangerous. Nobody had encountered it before, thus why nobody knew how to defend against it. Not that they could.
Finished with my examination, I willed it at sonic speed into Alexx's shoulder. He didn’t make a sound, but he did grit his teeth as he said, “I knew you were going to do that.” I smiled.
“So where are they?”
He kept his perfect poker face and said, “Where's wha-” He clenched his jaws when I started to make the scissors pull apart still inside of his wound. Blood poured from it.
“Where are they? You mentioned them last time we talked.” I demanded again. I wasn't going to give up so easily.
He was silent.
“You don't care either way, do you?”
“Not really.” He answered calmly. Already he was ignoring the pain in his shoulder.
“So why don't you just tell me and get it over with?”
He rose his eyebrows and tilted his head to the left. “Good point. But those weapons were a mistake and I'm not-” He stopped for a moment. “Actually, go right on ahead. I have a surprise for you when you get there.” He has a plan. Of course he does, who would leave powerful weapon unguarded?
“So where is it?”
He took a deep breath and spoke, “3 hours further west from here, that's the closest one. There will be a dungeon. One of them is in there; Rain.” He went on in a  monotone.
I dared not interrupt. It was extraordinarily rare for him to give so much at one time. Even if it was just a few sentences.
He continued, “There are creatures in there. But it's the warrior I entrusted Rain to that you should worry about.”
I smirked. “I'm not. Thank you, Alexx. I'll look forward to seeing you again soon. I need to get back to the camp.”
I left the room and climbed up the stairs. I need to gather everyone up and go to that dungeon. They can deal with the little guys. I'll deal with Rain.
