Saturday is the date night, so Carrie and I get our nails done in the morning. Over the week I managed to get things back to normal with everyone which I am grateful for, at least the date shouldn't be awkward now."So, I was wondering what dress you have in mind for the winter formal." Carrie asks.
"I have no idea." I say honestly.
"Oh good, Nat and I are going dress shopping after school on Monday. Since I am the only one who needs a dress I wanted you to come, so it won't be too awkward you know." She says. I laugh a little and agree.
"Yeah I guess." I say. "What type are you thinking?" I ask.
"Well I was thinking something dark with the theme being starry, starry night but I could also go with something light and match the stars. What are you thinking?" She asks, I bite my lip as I think.
"Well, I know I need something with a high neck, I don't want to show much of anything." I say, thinking of what I can and can't show.
"Were you raised religious?" She asks. "I mean cool, I can find something I'm sure." She says. I bite my lip and nod.
We pay and go home only to video call each other to choose our outfits; she wears a nice light dress with a grey cardigan and she chooses a darker outfit for me, foax leather trousers with a formal dark blue top. It does go quite close to the scar on my chest so I put some makeup on it just in case. I do my makeup as Carrie instructed before and Jacob picks me up. He is in blue jeans but with nice shoes, a nice shirt and a well fitted blazer he still looks fancy.
We get to the restaurant and we meet Carrie and Noah there. When they see us Carrie jumps up and hugs me. Noah talks to the waiter and as we sit down wine is poured for us. I look at Jacob, knowing that we are underage here, but he just winks at me. I laugh and take a sip.
"Good choice 2011?" I ask.
"Yep, how did you know?" Noah asks.
"I grew up in England, you start drinking quite early there. I know my alcohol." I say.
"I wish I could say the same, I was so surprised when I went over at all of the booze there." Jacob says.
"Well typically our beer is stronger, much like most of our alcohol, and you drank quite a lot." I say. He rolls his eyes and we look at the menu. I order salad, as does Carrie and the guys order either steak or a burger.
"So, how was it, growing up in England?" Carrie asks.
"Boring for the most of it, it was just me and mum and we couldn't afford to do much. It was just school until I was eleven, then we had to move so I did home school. I had a few friends when I was younger but I was kind of a loner until I met Jacob." I say.
"Any boyfriends?" She asks.
"No." I say. "No important ones." I say awkwardly. Jacob puts his hand on my knee and I give him a smile. Our food soon comes and we eat, making small talk. "So how did you two meet?" I ask.
"Noah and I met when we were little but didn't pay attention to each other until I think the second week of junior year. We were in the same English class." Carrie says.
"That must have been nice." I say. "It must have felt like fate right?" I ask.
"You'd know. Finding Jake at a concert then finding out you can go to the same school. It must have been magical." Carrie says.
"Well all I know is that the dance will be magical." I say, changing the subject.
"Awe thanks, it's all booked and prepared, we just need to get the gym ready and it will be ready to go." She says with a happy sigh.
