It's my birthday when Carrie calls me, the others are there too and it's a great way to wake up, they even stayed up late for me. It is definitely re assuring to hear them celebrate my birthday. Jacob isn't there but I expected that. I wish I didn't care so much about what they think about me but I do, but I know they still care.

"Happy birthday my sweet girl." My mum says as she walks in my door. I blush and I sit up, she comes in, lighting a pink and purple candle which has been stuck into a multicoloured cupcake. I laugh a little and watch as she sings happy birthday. Eventually I blow out the candle and lick some of the icing.

"Thank you mum." I say smiling as I yawn.

"No problem, there are eleven more cupcakes in the kitchen and a card but I couldn't get the day off today so if you want you can invite whoever you want over. It's a long day so I'm not sure when I'll see you again today." She says with a sigh.

"It's okay mum it's not like I ever really do anything on my birthday anyway." I say. She smiles and strokes my cheek softly.

"Okay, well I have to go. I love you." She says I smile and she leaves, I eventually hear the front door close and I get out of bed, putting on my dressing gown before going to the kitchen. On top of the box of cupcakes I see the card my mum left for me. I open it and a piece of paper falls out, I pick it up and after reading the card I look at the paper that fell out. I take a deep breath as I see my favourite band is playing this weekend I see it's a small venue and I awe. I've known that they play intimate venues but they are very secretive it's almost impossible to get tickets. The show is this Saturday so I have three days to get emotionally prepared.

As I shower I sing to their songs. I can only imagine how amazing it will be. I get dressed and take my iron supplement. My new doctor basically said that I just need to take the supplement every day and go back if it stops working, but so far I'm better than I was this time last year I'm pretty much normal now. I choose my clothes for Saturday so I have that out of the way and I go over my plans to get there and back; I go through all the scenarios I can think of and I dance in my room. I am so happy.

My music's volume drops for a second so I check my phone. Sure enough I have a text. I lower the volume of my music a bit and I read the message Evan sent.

Happy birthday! I don't actually have a present but I finish work at six if you want to do something

I smile and I sit on my bed. I don't think I want anything from him, but if I was to meet up with him, what would I want, what would we do? I send a reply.

How does a platonic movie night sound? I heard your sofa is comfy...

When I see the bubble pop up saying he is replying I get nervous, maybe excited too, but it's a relief when he replies saying that he'll pick me up and that he is looking forward to it. I get my things ready in a bag and I have a nap so I won't fall asleep too quickly. I'm pretty sure I won't need it but it's a habit now.

My second alarm goes off at five thirty and I get changed into sweat pants and a tank top. I slip on a hoodie and I admire my ticket some more. It makes my heart jump slightly. I take a picture so I have a copy with me at all times and I carefully put the cupcake box in my bag. I walk down the stairs of the apartment building as I put my hair in a bun. I almost jump out of the doors but I stop as I see a blue sports car outside. It's not an odd sight in London but when I see Evan sitting in the driver's seat I find it very strange.

"Is this yours?" I ask, slowly walking up to the car.

"Yep. It was a gift but I pay insurance and whatever. Get in birthday girl!" He says excitedly. I open the door and I get in, putting my bag in the back.
