Chapter 8

Luka's pov

"Really!?" Erik jumped up slamming his hands on the table "that's awesome!!"

"yeah" Angel answered "we are all going together, right?" she looked around at all of us.

"hell yeah! I'm not missing out on this for nothing!" Erik shouts.

"I'm in, but I've got to work on Saturday morning at 9 so I won't be drinking... too much," Leo said drinking his milkshake in one go.

"nooooo! But you're my favourite drinking buddy! "Erik wines. "Who am I going to get hammered with if not you ".

While Erik was complaining to Leo and begging him to change is shift with someone else, Angel turned to look at Robin and I.

"At least tell me you guys can drink and don't have to work in the old run-down vet shop that doesn't even pay that well"

"Hey!! the pay isn't that bad". So he's not denying that it's bad.

Erik rolls his eyes at him. Next to me Robin just nods and goes back to reading his book that he had been reading since he sat down. So the two devils turned their attention to me.

"I don't know, I will have to think about it" more like getting my sister to agree to let me go after forgetting to text her about not having to wait for me. Again.

Erik leans over the table, "Come on! It will be your first-party since you moved here! pleaaaaaase!!"

But before I could answer I heard the door open and shut and I'm pretty sure I've never seen someone face go from happy to complete panic so fast in my whole life. Or move so fast.

He runs to hide behind Leo in the booth. On the other hand, Leo looked like he's having the time of his life, I think, this guy doesn't smile much so it's hard to read his emotions sometimes.

Angel and I turned around to see what was going on but all I could see was an oldish looking lady, a bit on the larger side with grey hair tied up in a neat bun and green eyes. She sat down on one of the stools at the counter.

Before I could ask anything to anyone Angel slowly moved to get out of the booth and heading over to Erik, she was now hiding behind Leo as well.

Pops had walked over to us, without the old lady noticed him leave.

"you two better get out of here, I will talk to her but don't count on me to keep her distracted for long so get out"

He walked back to the counter and started to talk with who I now knew was his wife. Seeing that her husband was coming to be toward her a large smile spread on her face which made her look a lot more kind.

Angel and Erik took this chance to run out of the diner.

"you better have your answer by tomorrow !!" Erik said while being pulled along by Angel.

But they didn't make it out without getting a horrid glare from Ms.Poppy.

There was long silent afterwards they left until Leo broke it.

"soooo, you gonna drink that?" he asked pointing to Erik's untouched milkshake, he is totally acting like that lady didn't just give them a death glare that whole make any grown man run for the hills.

I just shake my head, "Nah, you can have it." he leans over and starts to drink it.

"why can't you come to the party ?" he asked sipping on the last of the shake, how can he drink that so fast without getting a brain freeze?
