This is a dream! It can only be.
The cacophony of voices shatter what little inner peace I have managed to create and I can only stare at them, mouth hanging open, a slice of pizza in my frozen hand as I wonder who suddenly took over my life and turned it into a weird comedy show.
Jason and Mason are talking about things I don't understand, Molly is barking and running around the living room, Jonathan is trying to calm his friends and I just want to scream at them to shut the hell up and tell me when I made my house the coolest hangout in town.
"Guys, guys, guys! I think she's broken." Jason points to me, bending so he can observe me with those bright blue eyes. He's in a maroon turtleneck sweatshirt on jeans as always, his curls scattered across his forehead.
Mason stops talking to Jonathan and walks towards me and I can only watch, very confused as a mischievous spark ignite in his eyes as the corner of his lips tug up in a smirk that sends chills down my spine.
"I can fix this!" He proclaims and before I can process the words, I'm in his arms and he's spinning me.
It only takes a second for my brain to register the situation and I wrap my arms around his neck, clinging to him tightly as my heart pounds in my chest.
I make the mistake of opening my eyes and my brain suddenly feels like it's going to pop out of my ears. Before I snap my eyes shut, I make out deep blue smouldering eyes.
"Cut it out, Mase." I hear Jonathan's voice and Mason slows to a stop, his chest vibrating as he lets out a hearty laugh.
He sets me down, not fazed at all. I try to let go, but my head swirls and I cling tighter to him for support.
"You're no fun, Joe!" Mason huffs. "Hey! Look how you're clinging to me like a koala to a tree. I'm gonna call you Koala from now on, okay?" He teases as he leads me to the couch.
When my vision clears and I'm settled in the chair, I move to take a bite of the pizza I was holding, but I end up chewing on air. Confused, I look around only to find Mason smirking at me as he shoves MY pizza into his mouth.
I glare daggers at him which has no effect because he sits opposite Jonathan, throwing an arm around him and leaving Jason to coo at my dog.
"You're a pretty little girl, yes you are! What's her name?"
"Molly," Jonathan answers Jason who scrunches his nose like he has just smelt something rancid.
"That's a horrible name for a dog. Isn't Molly MDMA or something?" Jason shakes his head as he picks my dog up ever so gently.
"Yah! Did you hear your aunt CJ is getting cancelled on all social media platform?" Mason shoves his phone into Jonathan's face and I inch closer, wanting to be part of their conversation.
