This is becoming a habit and I don't like it one bit!
I stare at the stupid single red rose now in my hand, the dumb hand written card in my other hand and I have the urge to scream.
"Ain't nobody hurt you like I hurt you, but ain't nobody love you like I do. Promised that I would not take it personal if you're moving on with someone new," I read aloud. "Bitch misspelled 'promised'."
"Isn't that the song you were obsessed with some years ago even though you'd never experienced heartbreak?" Cece furrows her brows in thought and I groan loudly.
"What even is his problem? Is he trying to make me hate Ed Sheeran or something?"
"In Criminal Minds, this would be the moment leading to him snapping and killing people who look like you."
I turn an incredulous stare to her and she shrugs like it's not a big deal. I swear, she's watched one too many crime drama, it's fucking with her head.
Still, I can't help the wave of uneasiness that spreads through me. It's like I can't catch a break!
"Should I be afraid?" I inquire, but she waves my concern off.
"Between Jonathan and the Richmond, I'm sure making Philip disappear won't be that big a deal." She gestures to someone behind me and I turn around to find Leah Stephenson.
She's walking alone for the first time in a while. She looks dejected, but she's trying to make up for it by dressing extra fancy.
She just got a new hairdo. Her new curls fall around her perfectly made up face. She has a new nose ring that actually suits her. She's in a black fitted long-sleeved top tucked into a plaid skirt and she manages to look fashionable rather than nerdy.
I vaguely recall her making fun of a girl last year for wearing a similar outfit and I shake my head.
"Hey you!" I scream at her and she looks around like she's shocked I'm willingly talking to her. Her lips quirk upwards into a grin and she bounds over to me.
Pathetic!
"Hi, M! Hi, Cece!" She waves like all is well with the world. Her eyes meet with the flower and card in my hands. "Oh! From Mason or Jonathan?"
"Cut it out! I still don't like you!" Her face falls and I almost feel sorry for her.
Almost.
Ever since Bubblegum and most of her friends unfollowed her, the internet started spinning rumours as to what could have happened and she's lost a lot of followers.
