At what point in the story does the villain become the hero?
One bad deed makes everyone forget every good you've ever done, but can the same be said for one good deed?
Knowing everything I do about Vincent, am I supposed to smile, thank him and call him a hero? Does saving my mother's life make up for him destroying Jonathan's?
"He said Imogen appeared at his doorstep scared for the safety of her family and -"
"Do you think he's getting something out of helping her?" Mason interrupts Jonathan. "Because last I checked, he doesn't have a saviour's complex."
"Why Vincent does what he does stopped occupying a space in my thoughts a long time ago." Jonathan shrugs.
"What's his plan to save my mom?" I'm curious to know but the boys shrug.
"He says he just needs a little more time. But he insists Imogen is safe," Jonathan assures me.
"D'you reckon he'll have X shake the love of God into the stalker?" Mason smiles that mischievous smile of his.
"Who's X?" I wonder out loud and Mason turns his amused eyes to me. His grin is wide and psychotic. He gets excited about really weird things.
It's really interesting to watch. One second, he's whining about fashion and being a diva, the next second, he looks like he's about to torture someone in his basement.
"X is the guy you call. He's the guy for everything. Need to kill someone? X's your guy. Need to bury a body? X! Need someone to drop off the face of the earth? You guessed it! X!"
He's kidding! He has to be kidding!
He has a very serious expression that tells me that he's not joking around and I wonder if it's wise to ask more questions. I feel like this is one of those things where the less I know, the safer I am.
Rich people scare me!
"Whatever he does, I can't wait to have Imogen back!" Jonathan says and I nod, agreeing with him.
He stares at us for a moment before he nods and disappears into the bathroom, leaving me with Mason.
Mason turns on his phone and scrolls through it, a sight grimace on his face.
"What's going on?" I move closer to him to know what's bothering him.
"My dad's being a menace about this whole relationship thing. He says he thinks I should see a therapist again. What does he think? That having feelings for you both is a mental illness? Ridiculous!"
He tosses his phone aside and leans his back against the headboard. He's visibly upset and I want nothing better than to cheer him up.
I wish my mom was here. She's always ready to shower people with support and affection, it's inspiring. I don't understand why it's not easy for other parents to do same.
