The baby's birthday party...

Emerald's POV

The animals for the petting zoo arrived and so did the guests. It was about an hour or two in to the party and I was just glad it was halfway done. I watched Sloane struggle with the baby just before turning to greet my mom and sister's.

"Bria!" I spun my baby around. She hugged me so tight I almost couldn't breathe.
"You got so big. I missed you so so much." I gave her one of the biggest kisses I could muster up. I put Bria down.
"Now where is my nephew?" Erica asked anxiously. We walked closer to Sloane who was holding the baby talking to Nate. Mya was now expecting but was terrified to tell Nate what was stupid enough not to suspect a thing. I introduced my mother and sister to them both. When she told me I thought she was lying. Outside of meeting her at the ranch and a few texts I barely knew her. Truth is I was closer to Nate than Mya.
"Isn't that sweet." Nate wrapped his arm around Mya's shoulders after Sloane kissed my cheek.

"Shut up." Sloane replied as I took the baby.

"Now Emerald don't play with me. Are you really moving back?" I shook my head reassuring her. My mother damn near cried. She was beyond dramatic which is why she had no idea about the Kai situation. Out if all of my sisters I could only tell Erica. Erin graduated college and moved on so she wasn't an option.

"Really Auntie E?" Bria's eyes teared up. I hadn't seen my baby in so long she was almost past the age of me being able to hold her.

"You promises?" She healed out her little pinky.

"I promise mama." We locked pinky's. After answering a few questions about why my mother took Bria to see some of the animals.

"Looks like you did a good party planner." I leaned on to Sloane.

"A hell of a job bro." Nate looked around. The party was going well.

"I'm glad that the weather held up." Sloane replied hugging me back.
Our family members came all this way to celebrate our little boy. Well mine anyway; Sloane went as far to hire security too keep his mother away but the obviously missed the memo about his father.

"Maybe you can plan our kids birthday party. I heard Time flys after the fourth month." Mya looked at Nate who didn't catch it at first.

"Fourth... Am I going to be a father?" His voice got softer while he grabbed her hand. I tried to focus on the moment but with Khalil crying and Jase moving through the crowd it was hard. I pulled Sloane aside trying not to seem to startled.

"There is only a hour or so left so when I tell you what I'm about to tell you I need you to stay calm." He raised an eyebrow.

"Are you pregnant too? I mean I wanted to be married first but it's a blessing." He kissed my forehead and the baby's forehead.

"No. Baby no. That's not it" I tried to stop him from saying too much. But I could see he already made contact with Jase.

"What is he doing here?" He took a deep breath. I put my hand on his chest stoping him from charging in his direction.

"We can deal with that later. It's your son's first birthday party!" I said above a whisper while holding the baby. Nate noticed  that I was having  a hard time and came to get the baby.

"What the fuck is this?" Sloane asked Nate when he came over.

"Look bro that's not even my father." He soothed crying Khalil. He simply proved his point. He had no motive to invite Jase ore even speak to him.
I watched Jase greet the guest at the party and even smile.

"Emerald..." Sloane was so upset I could feel it. Sloane turned walking to one of the people he hired.

"Get him out of here." I grabbed the guy pointing his entire body in the direction of Jase.

"No problem." He walked to Jase tapping him on his shoulder. Jase looked concerned and seemed to have asked why he had to leave. Our so called security kept the situation under wraps but as expected Jase wasn't happy. He handed the gifts to the man but not before exchanging eye contact with his son.

I had no time to dwell on the situation. As soon as Jase was escorted out Adrian and Devin walked in. I was surprised to see that they were still together.

"Sooo how do you like Vegas?" I gave her a hug which shocked her a little bit. Once I realized that I may not have to beat her ass I realized she was a sweet girl. She was super hard working and for her to go from bartender to full blown manager and damn near parter was amazing.

"I love it. I never imagined actually staying here." She said hugging me back. She reintroduced me to Devin while Devin shook Sloane's hand. The fact that he was a NFL player meant nothing to me after I realized how badly he treated his girlfriend.

"So you accept?" Sloane asked a little hesitant. Adrian looked up at Devin who smiled at her before shaking her head yes.

"Well enjoy the party because I'm sure he is going to work you to death when this is over." I joked before they strolled off hand in hand.

"I didn't invite him and I don't know who did or how he found out." I turned off my hostess charm while speaking to my clearly irritated fiancé.

"I'll find out who did and I'll handle it... Simple." Sloane smiled and hugged me as the photographer snapped a few shots. I didn't like how calm he was.

"How about a kiss?" The photographer put the camera down to ask. He healed me tighter making me forget where I was. His kiss made me wish we were someplace private.

"Beautiful." The man said before walking away.

"Fuck is he calling me for?" He showed me his phone.

"Look man you are out of line showing up at my child's birthday party like that." He walked away from all the party commotion. I followed him hoping he wasn't too loud.

"Fuck that stay away from my fucking  family." He hung up and started walking back and forth.

"We are leaving." He had Nate and the guys pack up the car while we all sang happy birthday. I watched Sloane from a far while I rocked the baby back and forth. We cut the cake and even opened a few gifts with out him.

"Thank you for coming." I walked over to Adrian who was helping with the clean up. Erica had the baby all tuckered out for the night.

"No problem. I'm just glad for the change of scenery." I told her everything the condo had to offer. We went back and forth talking  about wedding plans when Sloane emerged.

"We have people for that you don't have to do that." He walked back in with Devin. She must have felt my mood change when the room fell silent.

"Well thank you for having us." She flashed a smile. Devin held out his hand waiting for Adrian to meet him half way. Every time I turned around there was another reason why he didn't want one of his parents around and I can't take it.

"Ready?" I looked at him. He nodded shortly after.
