28. Mistake

Emerald's POV

This time I was going to my bridal appointment alone. A small part of me considered telling my sisters and aunts to come but it wasn't worth it. While thinking about who I could ask I found myself thinking about how Kai and I used to dream of this day and now I couldn't stand the sight of her. After a few minute of thinking I realized this was all about me and should be done alone at this point. Sloane was still knocked out when I woke up to get ready. By the time I gave Khalil a bath, fed him and got him dressed I figured Sloane would be a wake but I was wrong. Khalil sat watching TV while leaning on his father while I got dressed.

"Your daddy still isn't up huh Papa?" I scooped him up when he reached out to me. I smooched his chubby cheeks causing him to squeal. It was still early in the day but Sloane was sleeping like it was almost midnight.
"Babe." I poked him in the rib with the TV remote making him turn over. The baby was more concerned with my necklace than his father's slumber.
"Yeeess" He said breaking his sleep. I stood with the baby on my hip getting a glimpse if Sloane's eyes for the first time this morning.

"That ass is tired huh?" I asked bragging about. He gravitated straight for the baby.

"Good morning to you too." Khalil made himself comfortable in his dads arms.

"I have to go to the boutique and then the doctors." I trailed off. I hope he didn't hear me and want an explanation but I was wrong.

"What's wrong." He got super serious. I watched him look me up and down.

"Just a check up" I replied. I didn't know if I was pregnant but I had a feeling about it. I thought I should say something this time because he wasn't completely over the fact that I didnt tell him when I found out the first time. I wasn't hiding my pregnancy but at 23 I didn't know what to say especially because Sloane and I were still new. This time I didn't know if u was ready for baby number two.

"Are you sure?" He asked again while I grabbed my shoes. The basic black pump matched the vibe of my simple outfit.

"I'm positive." I stood looking in the mirror.

"You looking a little too good for the doctor." He said now wide awake. He sat up letting the baby tug at his facial hair.

"I'm just saying. Looking a lil thick E" I kissed my favorite boy before leaving the house.

"Good bye Sloane." I smiled ear to ear as he continued to play games.

"Damn that's all me?" He folded his lips. He had a way of making me feel good that Tay never really mastered. This time I knew that it was real because Sloane was only with me.

"Stop it. I know what you're trying to do." If I stood there any longer I would definitely be expecting.

"I live for that smile baby." He licked his lips gripping my thigh only making me smile harder.

"I couldn't imagine life with out a man who didn't make me smile as much as you do." I knew I was going to be late but it didn't even matter.

"That's a good thing because I'm hilarious." He let me go after realizing I had to go.

"Whatever." I tickled Khalil before leaving the room.

"I love you." He yelled as I walked to the garage.

"I love you more." I replied. While stepping in to the garage.

"Since you love me so much you wouldn't mind me talking your car." I said to myself but out loud while I debated on what I wanted to drive. I stepped back in the house grabbing his keys off the hook.
I pulled off after adjusting my seat and opening the door. The drive was great considering the boutique was almost an hour away from the house.
