"Please, sit down."
The man smiled warmly, gesturing to the lounge area on the right side of his office. Jimin did so cautiously, followed by Namjoon. Taehyung stayed back, choosing to lean by the large window instead.
Jimin looked around, taking in the large office. The couches were made of some kind of leather, two sofas facing each other with a glass coffee table in the center. A cherry blossom in a larfe flower pot was placed in the corner of the room.
The man pressed a button on the phone, requesting tea to be brought in. He then looked up, leaning back into his couch and smiling again at Jimin. "Now, as I said before," He sighed, clasping his hands together. "My name is Felix Montgomery and I am the lead doctor here at Sacred Haven organization. I'm sure you have a lot of questions as to why you are here."
Jimin looked back at Namjoon, unsure what to say. Namjoon only nodded, encouraging the younger blonde. "I'm wondering who you are."
"Just like your friend Namjoon and Taehyung, and your friends back home, I work here," Felix explained.
"What is here?" Jimin questioned, uncomfortable in his seat. He wasn't stupid, this place was definitely not a hospital. The building looked like more of a company with floors and floors of offices than a place meant for doctors and patients.
Jimin was too anxious to look away from Felix and he wished that Namjoon would take him home instead.
"First, I'll just explain the history of how we started this organization, that's only fair right?" Felix suggested. Jimin only nodded. "Nearly two decades ago, I had gotten sick. I soon discovered that I had a tumor in my spine which would soon paralyze me and travel into my brain – ultimately killing me."
Jimin wasn't sure how to react, he wasn't sure if he should say anything. Namjoon was quiet beside him, looking at Felix like he hung to every word.
"I would have had only a few years, maybe only a year, to live if it weren't for a cure my fellow doctors and I created. We, at Sacred Haven, aim to cure diseases and prevent sickness, and find ways to make the human body to become stronger and faster." A lady had walked in during Felix's speech, pushing a cart in with a tray of little cakes and tea for them. She quietly set the tray down, careful to not make a noise. "Because of my success story, we wanted to find ways to prevent sickness and diseases altogether."
Felix waved Taehyung over who had a file folder in his hand. Taehyung walked over and handed the folder to him. He took out a few papers, on top had the same strange bird with its tail curled around in flames.
"Which realistically, some would say, is pushing it," Felix laughed. "How could we possibly have the human body avoid pain, sickness, and disease?"
Jimin felt like he was speaking to him in another language.
"We wanted the human body to adapt, which it probably would in another hundred years," Felix shrugged. "I wanted to speed up the process and modify the human body. First, we started with animal testing, which we passed, and then got approved for human testing. We sought out to make the human body better. So, we began an experiment – to see if we could enhance what we already had. Thus, Project Phoenix was created."
"You keep saying making it better," Jimin mumbled, more to himself. His voice slightly shaking as he tried to summon up some bravery. "How?"
"We tweaked the serum," Felix explained further, not missing a beat and placing the papers in front of Jimin. Felix pointed to a name Project 12. "this individual developed enhanced hearing and eyesight. His pain tolerance and strength were greater than the average person."
