"Why didn't you do your thing?" Jimin asked he finished his last bite.

Taehyung had been quiet since the waiter had left. He looked up at Jimin. "Do my thing?" He laughed.

Jimin rolled his eyes, shaking his head. "You know what I mean, don't think I haven't figured out what kind of powers you have. I've seen it and I guess you've probably used them on me before."

Taehyung watched him quietly. He looked for any sign of fear or worry. Jimin did not trust him in the beginning and it was clear he did not want to be with him. But things might be different now, Jimin could feel differently about him. Maybe. "I haven't, in a while," Taehyung admitted. "Not since we got here. I needed to calm you down."

Jimin winced, staring down at his empty plate. Yoongi had drugged him the first night to calm him down and so had Namjoon when they visited the facility the first time. Now Taehyung had the ability to do so by just using his words. "Well, I appreciate it if you don't from now on."

The waiter came by quietly this time, looking Taehyung in the eye as he noticed the gloomy look Jimin had. He took the plates away and left. Jimin continued to look out the window. Taehyung sighed, wiping his mouth with the napkin.

"I won't okay?" Jimin finally looked at him but said nothing. He looked down at his hands. Jimin started to wonder if it was normal that he couldn't use his powers and why everyone else could. It's like a warmth, Jin had said and when Jimin thought about it enough, he swore he felt it something in his hands. But now that was gone.

"Did you like the food?" Taehyung asked after another minute of silence.

"Yeah," Jimin nodded. "Thanks"

Taehyung nodded, taking money out of his wallet. He stood up and Jimin followed him toward the front entrance. They heard a loud gasp from where they had been sitting and Jimin looked back, Taehyung completely ignoring the noise. The waiter had gone back to their table and found the money, when Jimin looked back he was smiling happily at them and holding the money to his chest.

Jimin looked up at the television screen that hung in the corner of the front entrance. He hadn't noticed it before. The news was on, with a man on talking and looking straight at the camera, and Jimin saw the date on the bottom left as they left the diner. He tried to remember when Namjoon took him to the facility and guessed it's been almost a month. He wasn't sure how long he was at the facility, but he knew it's been over a week since they've arrived at the Manor. He overheard Taehyung use that name when he ordered supplies to be delivered the other day.

Taehyung handed him his helmet and Jimin took it. Taehyung waited for him to get on. "What's wrong?" he asked as Jimin stood there.

"If I'm going to trust you, I need you to do something for me," Taehyung raised a brow. "I don't know what Felix wants from me, but I'm ready to know everything. I'm ready to know why."

"I don't think you get to decide that," Taehyung said softly. "Not for this."

Taehyung started the motorcycle causing Jimin to jump again. It wasn't as amusing as it was the first time and Jimin looked annoyed. Taehyung held out his hand again but Jimin ignored it. He got on and they drove off. As they left the town, Jimin started to wonder if he's ever going to see Yoongi again. He didn't want his feeling to be right that morning when it felt like he was saying goodbye.

The force of the wind was strong and since it was dark now, it was cold. He pushed his body against Taehyung's for the warmth. His eyes tearing up, mostly from the wind and also from the sick feeling in his stomach.

The motorcycle slowed to a stop and Taehyung used his leg to lean to the side. Jimin looked up, wondering what he was doing and how long they had been driving now. He was about to say something when he noticed a person on the road. It was a man, standing in the middle of the empty road in all black. "Taehyung," Jimin asked loudly because of the helmet. "What's happening?"

Taehyung had stepped off the motorcycle almost immediately, taking off the helmet. Jimin got off also, nearly tripping on his feet.

"I've been looking for you," The man growled in a gargled snarl. The man's body was rounded to the side, his back was hunched, and his neck craned in an awkward angle to the side. His body didn't look right. No, Jimin thought, his body looked broken.

"You're becoming bolder," Taehyung smiled, the way he smiled creeped out Jimin. He's never seen him look like that. His eyes glistened, and he shook where he stood with contained excitement. Something changed in him in that second. "You're impossible to track."

The man grinned through his teeth and Jimin could see blood. "You know you can't stop me"

"What are you doing here?" Taehyung walked a couple of feet and the man stood where he was. Jimin wanted to tell him to come back.

"Your maid managed to press the emergency button," The man walked toward them. Jimin grimaced at the way he moved. His body jerked awkwardly at each step, the sound of bones breaking. Blood seeped through his mouth and down his throat. "Her body is too frail, and she reminded me too much of my mother, so I waited until the guard came."

"What did you do with this one?" Taehyung asked, chuckling and his laugh scared Jimin.

"He fell," Jimin didn't find that hard to believe. The man looked like he fell from a fifty-foot building.

"Let me ask you something, how long did it take you to remember?"

The man let out an awful sound, it sounded like a laugh and he sputtered blood out of his mouth. "Fuck you're vain,"

The man's eyes rolled back, and he fell forward, his face smacked straight onto the pavement. Jimin winced and he swore he heard something crack. He gasped when blood appeared from under the man's face and slowly pooled on the road. Taehyung sucked his teeth. "I think he's becoming weak,"

The man laid on the road, his body had fallen like a brick - lifeless. Jimin yanked on Taehyung's arm. "Who the fuck was that?"

Taehyung blinked, almost snapping out of a daze. He sighed like he was bored and what had happened inconvenienced him. "Let's get back. I'm afraid the house might be a mess."

Jimin stared at the body, unsure if he wanted to run away from it or run away from Taehyung. He got on the motorcycle, and they drove away. Jimin turned his head so he couldn't see the body up close.

-

Jimin fell back, walking slowly to the door. Taehyung had already gone in first. He reached up to hold the doorframe as he stepped inside. He held his breath, hoping he wouldn't see the body in the front entrance. Taehyung was standing in the threshold toward the kitchen. Jimin could see legs lying down behind the kitchen counter.

"Jimin don't come inside the kitchen," Taehyung muttered. "It's a fucking a mess, there's glass everywhere."

Jimin nodded quietly even though Taehyung wasn't looking at him. He rushed up the stairs and into his room. He heard Taehyung call someone to clean up before shutting his bedroom door. He walked to his bed and sat down. He couldn't cry. He only felt numb. A couple of minutes passed when he heard a knock on the door and Taehyung came in. He walked over and sat down beside him. A moment passed in silence before Taehyung spoke.

"I could have willed the waiter's thoughts away and made him believe something," Taehyung said softly. Jimin continued to stare at the floor. "But lately that's been hard to do. My powers... aren't as strong as they were before."

"Why are you telling me this?" Jimin asked. He doesn't even remember if he asked the housemaid's name.

"Felix wants us to become thick as thieves," Taehyung said and Jimin looked at him with disdain disbelief. "and I'll do it, give you more of your memories. But only one at a time and not every day."

"I need to be able to use my powers, at least to protect myself," Jimin muttered. "Why can't I use them?"
