I walked into the Alpha Den, which, ironically enough, made me think of the Diamond Den at the Beta house. The house was packed with people, and so was the backyard pool, where the pool partying was, and the lawn where a whole other party spot was, making it three parties happening at the same time.

I'd probably enjoy this if I liked parties.

     But I don't.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate parties. I just always end up in a corner wedged between a couple making out and a kid puking in a bucket. Not your ideal party situation.

I stood on a wall for a while observing the party. The board made sure to outlaw alcohol but they missed one tiny detail.

They forgot about the possibility of drugs.

Throughout the party people were smoking since they couldn't drink. I guess the substitution is the reason that these parties are still popular.

I saw Angelo arrive to the party and as he walked through he was greeted by everyone he passed. He got to an opening for a hallway and did a generic guy handshake with the guy who stood there. He let him pass and then continued to observe the party. I could tell that he was the guard but he was also just another frat boy. I was deep in thought until I felt someone embrace me from behind.

"Hey hot cakes!" a familiar voice said from behind me. I turned around to see Jacob and Zoey. Jacob had on skinny jeans, a classic graphic tee, and an acid washed denim jacket that was fashionably ripped. Zoey had on a black dress that stopped halfway down her thighs and that had long sleeves that flared out at the ends of it.

"Hey guys!" I said as enthusiastic as Jacob.

"We didn't know you were a party girl Mel." Zoe said as she smiled at our eagerness.

"Well I'm here to get into the Betas." I replied.

"Ugh, those bitches! I love them!" Jacob said.

We all laughed at his remark and I wanted to spend some more time at the party with them but I have a mission and I think I know how to get it done.

"Hey Zoe, I was wondering if you could do me a favor." I said.

"Sure, what kind of favor?" She asked.

"Can you go distract that guy standing by the hallway over there? I know it sounds crazy but—"

     "Sure!" She agreed.

She walked over to the guy and me and Jocob watched her. She flirted with him and distracted him into walking away from the hallway.

     "Damn she's good!" I said.

"Taught her everything I know." Jacob replied with a grin.

I laughed and walked to the hallway. I made sure that Zoe was still distracting him and when I spotted them, they were on the dance floor dancing. When she made eye contact with me I put a thumbs up and she nodded in response.

I walked down the hall as far as it went in that direction and then turned left down the rest of the hallway. Once I got to the end of the hall I was confused as to where I was and I didn't know what door could have been the stash room. God I should've gotten directions.

"Hey!" I heard from behind me. I turned around to see the guy who was guarding the hallway. Damnit! Guess I gotta sweet talk my way out of this predicament.
