Gabriella's POV
You know how a lot of people say they hate being in the spotlight? Well that was never a problem for me, I was used to having people stare at me. I had attended many events with my father and mother. Back then I would get slighty nervous but I got used to it.
The difference now though was that I was being stared down by a huge family. I tried to count them but they kept shifting around and I would loose count. Then they all started greeting me at the same time. Most of the younger family members said "Hi" or "Hey". While the older ones said "Hola" or "Buenas Tardes" (good afternoon).
Two little boys stood in front of me a just stared. They looked to be maybe around 3. They both had dark brown hair, the only difference was that the taller litte boy had green eyes. The smaller boy had the lightest chocolate brown eyes that I have ever seen. I smiled at them and they both gave me an adorable smile then they both squealed and ran off to hide somewhere. Diego chuckled beside me which really caught my attention for some reason.
"¡Tío ya llegaste! Te estaba esperando para jugar fútbol." A young man finally approached us. (Uncle you're here! I was waiting for you so we could play soccer).
"José, how you been my man?" Diego and José did a weird man hug.
"You know the usually," José chuckled quietly then looked over at me,"So you're the one Tía Rebecca won't stop talking about."
I raised my eyebrow slightly, a little amused that everyone else in the room was listening to our conversation.
"I suppose I am. My name's Gabriella, by the way," I introduced myself loudly so I wouldn't have to repeat it over and over again.
An older looking woman stepped into the room with a smile on her face. She had laugh wrinkles on the corners of her eyes and her gray hair was pulled back into a bun. An apron was wrapped around her thin waist, underneathe the apron she wore a simple purple dress. Her eyes where a brown that the majority of the family had, but her eyes in a way were stating that she had experienced it all.
"La comida ya está servida en la mesa, así que todos vengan a comer. Agarren los niños pequeños también para que vengan a comer," she looked at Diego with so much love in her eyes, I thought it could become contagious,"Diego trae esa mujer bonita también para comer." She winked at me then turned towards the doors. Everyone followed her, even the two little ones went. (The food is served, so everyone come eat. Grab the little ones so they'll come eat. Diego bring that beautiful woman to eat also).
Pulling me along Diego led us into the biggest dinning room I have ever seen - with the exception of castles. A huge dinning table was at the center of the room. It was long enough to sit 20 people. The walls were colored a light coffee color. A small chandelier hung in the center of the ceiling. There were one big picture at the far back wall of the room. It was a picture of Diego, two other men, two young women and two older looking people. I assume they were his parents.
Letting go of my hand Diego pulled out a chair for me to sit. I sat down and looked around and saw that almost everyone was already seated in their chairs. Diego sat to my right while a Carmen sat to my left.
The food had indeed been served on our plates already. There were two burritos with a red sauce poured over them with rice and beans on the side. Everyone had a glass of water but I noticed a few of the teens drinking Jarritos, a type of hispanic soda.
"Just so you know, it's okay if you don't finish everything on your plate,"Carmen said quietly.
"The food looks so delicious I think I might ask for seconds," I whispered.
