Avalon's POV

"Good night, everybody." Gav said, switching off the lights.

The next day arrived early. All three of us were rudely awoken by a rooster crowing.

"What is that?" Jack groaned in his sleep.

"Turn it off." Gav said, covering his ears tightly.

I stuck my arm out from under the covers and tried to switch off the alarm clock. My fingers could grasp anything so I opened an eye and realized that the alarm clock wasn't going off.

"Guys, it isn't the alarm." I mumbled.

All of us sighed and started to wake up. Gav was the first one to use the bathroom. I went next, and Jack went last. Gav and I warmed up our food in the microwave and turned on the TV.

Authorities still looking for the killer at large. Yesterday, there had been a murder of a private driver. Details not yet known.

"For god's sake, turn the TV off. I don't want to hear anything about that." Jack groaned from the bathroom, his toothbrush hanging out of his mouth.

"About what?" I asked.

"They've got authorities looking for us, because I killed the driver." Gavin said, eyes downcast.

"But he was working for the Moderatoris. You did what was right. It's ok, Gavin. You saved us." I said.

I grabbed Gavin into a hug and turned the TV off.

Jack came out of the bathroom and glanced at us.

"We have breakfast at 8." He said, drying his hair off with a towel.

We head out of the cabin and ran into Abby, who was about to fetch us. She was short, had light brown hair and was sucking a lollipop.

"Hey! I was just about to get you guys. Her eyes lingered on Jack.

"Yeah, we were about to come. We were thinking of kayaking today. Are they open today?" Jack asked, oblivious to Abby.

"Yeah, no one comes out here so late in the year. I can show you around!" Abby said happily.

'I thought our plan was to stay out of view, and leave quickly',I messaged Jack.

"That sounds like a great idea, Abby." Jack said, ignoring my message.

Abby's cheeks reddened, and she opened the door to the Alden's cabin.

'Why are you ignoring me?', I messaged again.

'I think it'll look suspicious if we leave too quickly. And, we've been on the run for too long. We should have some fun.', Jack messaged back.

"Looks like we're gonna stay for some time.", Gav whispered to me.

We sat down at the table, and marveled at the piles of pancakes.

"Wow, we haven't had such a good meal since forever." Gavin exclaimed.

"Sit yourselves down children. Abby's informed me that you wanted to go kayaking so I packed a quick lunch for y'all." Mrs. Alden said, giving Abby a basket.

We thanked her and scarfed down the pancakes.
