Twenty-six

Harriet stood up grinning , i giggled walking out of the stage to hug her, her white dress makes her look almost angelic " this was wonderful! The feels!" She exclaimed with her usual upbeat self, jumping up and down a little " thanks, you rocked that piano by the way " walking to our moms , Lucille's blonde almost white hair was the only thing I could recognize, waving to me excitedly.
My eyes search for Ruby, racking the seats but she is no where to be found. My smile faded, feeling my mood going down suddenly.
" oh baby, you were great! It was so good, I was a crying mess at the end" Lucille exclaims, hugging me tightly, I hug her back but said nothing.

I cried myself to sleep that night, burying my face in my pillows to muffle my sobs, sometimes calling for grandpa longingly.' It's a mistake, grandpa! I did this all to be rejected in the cruelest way, I can't even go back now! Since my body isn't developed enough to get me back my powers! I'm so stupid! I wish if I did it for money ' scolding myself became my favorite sport.

The next day, I knew my eyes will turn puffy and red from all that night regrets. Taking a shower like a lifeless creature, my hair has grown to shoulder length, allowing me to dye it black and cut my fringe. At least, it makes me feel more myself when I look at the mirror. My new addition tattoo between my breasts stands proudly on my pale skin making me faintly smile, I tried to work on my look during these years, to make me more comfortable in my own skin .

" morning! Soo how do you feel knowing that you are a graduate from university high school!" Harriet poke her head from her room, her blonde hair straightened to perfection, smiling to me but I can sense that she heard my crybaby night , I smiled faintly
" I feel like, I need to go to Hogwarts with you Harry!" Giggling at our own joke. Since she is from London and her name is basically Harry in a female tense. So we started the Harry Potter jokes since then.
" you actually has to enjoy the privilege of the sun and the beach before it's time to go away for college in London " she smirked " which leads me to my next decision, you are attending the beach party with me!" She squealed, unlike me, she actually made friends here and was usually invited to the parties. I wasn't a party person in 2017, and absolutely not one in 2004.

" I don't know why I said yes to this! I'm not sure about all this Harriet " I complained for the hundreds of time in our way to the beach party. Harriet failed to tell me that ruby was the Dj and I knew it eventually and that's why my internally screaming and choking her in my mind.
" uhh well, I don't know what was highlighting and contouring with makeup, and I didn't know what's on fleek, or why the hell you use glitter on your upper cheekbones or why you refuse to thin your eyebrows, but did you see me complaining!" She half yelled at me, obviously tired of my whining. I couldn't say anything, because she is now very used at my mysterious words and acts, and also knows that I won't tell her anything about it and respect it. That's why I like hanging out with her. Although she is a year younger than me, theoretically..... she is indeed very mature when it comes to her mind and the way of thinking.

music was heard before you can see the party lights, beach parties are popular here, so no one is complaining. girls with bikinis or summer dresses, guys showing off their summer body, while others helping to lit a fire camp away from the crowd to get privacy.

i was forced to wear a bikini so i wore a see through black dress above it and sandals.i knew most of the attenders, since they are students in the same school i graduated from.... yesterday?

walking on the sands grimacing at the tipsy dudes who are now acting like hyenas in heat, but the beat was good, on top of a stage i can see Ruby bobbing her head with the music while working her magic in her DJ kit she recently purchased, don't ask me how i knew.

eventually i found myself losing up to the music swaying while holding a red cup filled with cheap alcoholic punch. it's not a surprise that Usher and 50cent were played constantly along with Justin Timberlake and a little of Pink. it was nice but do i know how to dance like a 2004 teenager on alcohol ? no, but i swayed,even tried to shake my bottom and blend in for at least,one night of my life.

it was now fully dark, Harriet was dancing with a guy from her class but i made sure she is not intoxicated before turning to the crowds and try to dance, surely enough.. there were some people who actually want to dance with me,or dry hump me ... but with dark atmosphere and alcohol, i found myself dancing with a really familiar figure ..... Ruby.

" I see you are enjoying the party" yelling to be heard above the music,  smiling to me as if she didn't just ditched me from her life two years ago.
