The final day of the school year finally arrives. Hogwarts seems to buzz with the students excitement of finally going home for the summer. But one boy was too busy stressing to be excited.
"Harry, please just calm down! You know it will work!" Draco exclaims, trying his hardest to calm down the other boy.
"But what if it doesn't? Or what if he feels that I'm in his mind?"
"I have never felt you in my mind. You're as sneaky as a snake when it comes to legilimency."
Harry let's out a sigh, he has been so nervous about trying legilimency on the headmaster. He knows he is good, but that doesn't stop his nerves from kicking in. Draco grabs his hand and pulls him off the bed.
"Come on, let's go and have breakfast before it's over."
Harry complied and the two boys walk hand in hand out of the common room. The boys arrive at breakfast and begin to pile food onto their plates. Blaise and Pansy exchange a glance as they notice Harry's mood.
"What's wrong with you, Harry? You don't seem too happy." Pansy asks, concern evident in her voice.
"Nothing. Just tired I guess."
Pansy opens her mouth to reply but quickly shuts it as she notices the deathly look Draco gives her.
The four eat in silence, although Harry seems to push his food around his plate more than he actually eats it. None of them notice as a figure walks down the aisle, stopping beside Harry.
"Hello, my boy." Albus greets, his old eyes twinkling.
Harry chokes on his food before quickly recovering and turning towards the man.
"Hello, sir."
Harry prepares himself. He clears his mind of all thoughts except those of schoolwork and the train ride back to London. He raises his gaze and locks eyes with the old man. He notices the quick upturn of the mans lips as Dumbledore pokes his way into Harry's mind. As soon as Harry feels Dumbledore's presence in his head, he quickly slips into the mans mind.
'For a man who's apparently so brilliant, he sure doesn't clear his mind.' Harry thinks, making sure that thought stays hidden from Albus.
One thought in particular catches Harry's attention. The philosophers stone was stolen last night. Harry feels Albus begin to retreat from Harry's mind so Harry quickly pulls out of his.
"Heading back to your aunts house for the holidays?" Albus asks.
"Of course not. Sir, you know as well as anyone that Remus and Sirius are my guardians. Must we play this game so often?"
"I'm sorry, Harry. M-"
"Mr Lupin-Black."
"My apologies. My mind seems to be wandering at the moment."
"Well I do suggest you get some control over it. No use having a mind if you don't use it."
The boy pushes himself up off the bench, his friends copying him. And the four leave the hall. Their robes billowing behind them causing a dramatic exit. Severus smirks at the group from his place at the teachers table, impressed by the groups flair for the dramatics.***
As the train pulls into the station, Harry and his group hastily exits the train. Pansy gives each of the boys a quick hug and a kiss on the cheek before saying goodbye. She quickly walks to her parents, hugging them both. Blaise nods goodbye to the two boys before wandering over to his parents. Harry and Draco make their way to their parents; Remus and Lucius deep in conversation while the two cousins are laughing about something. As the boys approach, the group focus on them.
"Dragon! It's going to be so lovely to have you home again! I've missed you so much!" Narcissa states while hugging her son.
"Mother, please stop. You're embarrassing me." Draco whines while squirming to get out of his mothers embrace.
"Harry! So excited to have you home! Remus hasn't stopped complaining about how much he misses you!" Sirius exclaims while hugging the boy.
"Oh don't you start, Sirius. I think you complained more than I did." Remus replies while joining the hug.
As the trio seperate, Harry catches Lucius watching him.
"Ahh...I'm glad to finally meet you Mr Lupin-Black. I'm sure I will see you around our manor over the summer. Feel free to stop by whenever you'd like. Just be sure to send an owl at least an hour before you visit so we can prepare."
"Thank you, Mr Malfoy. And please, call me Harry."
"As you wish, Harry. You can call me Lucius."
Harry nods quickly in response. He walks over to Draco and gives him a hug, the other boys arms wrap around him tightly.
"Please come over soon! I miss you already." Draco whispers to Harry.
The two boys let each other go and Harry looks Draco in the eyes.
"I will be over as soon as I can. I will miss you too."
Draco smiles before turning and walking to his parents. He links arms with his mother.
"Bye, Harry!"
And the three Malfoys apparate away. Harry grabs hold of Sirius's arm and with a quick turn, they apparate to Grimmauld place. As they enter the house, Harry let's out a content sigh.
"I've missed this place." Harry mumbles to himself.
He races upstairs and places his trunk at the end of his bed. He unpacks all the contents and places them all away. Odessa unwraps herself from around Harry's neck and slithers down his arm before making her way to the sun patch on the bed. Harry looks around and smiles, enjoying the idea of not having to be on guard all the time for the next couple of months. The sound footsteps coming up the stairs drag Harry away from his thoughts, he turns to face the door as Remus pops his head in.
"We will be having dinner in about half an hour." He states.
"Great. I am absolutely starving. Oh, I forgot to ask, would you happen to know any books about the philosophers stone?"
"I've got a couple. Come with me and I'll grab them for you."
Harry follows Remus into his room. The pair walk past Sirius's side of the bed and stop at the bookshelf next to Remus's side. Remus's eyes scan the shelves before he quickly reaches out and pulls a couple of books off the shelves.
"Here you go. These are the most informative ones I have."
"Thank you. I shall see you at dinner."
Harry quickly leaves the room, hurrying back to his room. He shuts the door quietly and relaxes into the chair in the corner. Opening up the first book, he quickly flicks through the pages until he comes across the words 'Philosophers Stone'. He begins to read, and within half an hour, he has finished reading both books' information on the philosophers stone. His mind full of all this new information, he heads downstairs to enjoy dinner with his family. Throughout the conversations during dinner, one thought plagued his mind. Who stole the philosophers stone?
