Emily sat with Aaron at the table in his office. They'd been there all day, trying to finish the massive amounts of paperwork that had accumulated while they were gone. Their assistants, Corrina and Wes, had managed to take care of the urgent stuff for them along with whatever they had clearance for, but it was still a lot.
Yet, for some reason, on the corner of Aaron's desk she noticed a slip of paper with various "romantic" locations written down on it.
"What's this?" she asked, skimming over it aloud. "Bruges, Mykonos, Paris, the French Riviera, Rome?"
"What? I told you I was serious about the whole vacation thing." he shrugged.
Emily laughed in disbelief.
"Do you see how much paperwork we have after being gone for just five days? How on earth would we be able to deal with the workload after a vacation? Besides, these are all so far away."
"I think that's the point." he stated walking over to her.
"And expensive," she reminded him.
"Okay, then where would you suggest? And don't say here," he asked.
"I don't know. My grandma has a timeshare out in California. It's outside of San Diego, and it's right there on the beach."
Aaron considered it for a moment.
"Hm, I was thinking of something a little bit more... romantic."
Emily raised an eyebrow, wrapping her arms around his neck.
"Were you now? Wow, Aaron, I didn't realize you had a romantic side," she teased.
"What can I say? I'm full of surprises."
