After settling in the next couple days, Zaria and Mia dedicated their time to babysit Celeste. Elijah did whatever he usually did. Asher and I searched for Myles' house. We wanted to destroy it so no one could track him to this town.
I told him everything. He listened and we began to think things through. "Somebody's gonna come looking after him." Asher said watching ahead of him.
"Michaels got four kids; Myles, Mya, Michelle and Malcolm. I met Michelle a while ago we were friends. But I never knew that was her father." I shook my head. "They're not... powerful. Like Celeste and Michael. It's just them. And us." I said. I felt his presence. He wasn't alone there were others. They didn't know that we knew.
"Why have you come?" The voice belonged to a man. His accent was French. He stood about 200 feet from the house. The man was tall and had a sort of muscular build. I felt somebody on the roof and behind the house. There were two guys behind the van parked in the driveway. I was allowing myself to feel all of my strength.
"I killed Michael." I said. He tended up and glared at Asher. "What now?" I asked.
"We'll just take you both." He shrugged his shoulders. His men hopped out from their hiding spots and began to come for us.
I took a deep breath and as i exhaled everything stopped, literally. All the men froze, I had paralyzed their bodies and froze them in place. They all stared at me, scared wondering what will happen next. I felt their fear. There were about ten guys, all dressed similar and looked similar.
I dug into their minds, trying to feel their memories. She saw that they worked for Katherine's children. There was an entire operation of these guys. Digging deeper into their memories I saw... me. Most of them had bad memories of me killing their loved ones or breaking their heart. It was some heavy stuff. I felt their revenge and anger.
"Oh well." I said out loud. Other people's lives mean nothing to me, especially if mine is in the loop.
"Kill them." Asher mumbled to me.
"Help me. Use your power try." I encouraged him. We always tried when we were younger but I was always the more powerful twin and he felt somewhat ashamed. In my opinion he still was pretty strong.
Asher took a deep breathe and let the power flow through him. He opened his wide and looked around at each person. One by one the men were dropping. Once they all were dead he went to stand over them. He waved his hands over them and they were gone, poof.
"Where are they?" I asked.
"Theirs boss's door." He smirked.
"I see you have been practicing. Why didn't you tell me?" I said to him, seriously looking at him.
"Maybe I wanted to have secrets." He rolled his eyes.
"Not fair, mine are... situational. And I just told you." I defended myself.
"Yeah whatever. Let's go search this house." Asher began walking ahead of me. I followed hastily through the tall grass.
The house was small but had four rooms. It was quick to search, also while discovering the belongings there. I found a notebook with a picture of Celeste pinned to a page. A small wave of anger flushed through me.
The handwriting was neat, writing in detail about my son. His abilities, his parents, even with plans for destroying me.
"They're trying to take Celeste." I heard Asher say from the other room. I walked over to see him hunched over a computer reading emails. There were many of them, all pointing to Issac Moore.
"Isaac." I whispered, trying to remember who he was. And then it clicked.
We dated for a short 20 years, he was good so our relationship wouldn't last. My killing side bothered him and that was it. One thing about Isaac he was in love with money. He always did petty odd jobs for the money. I'm guessing it was the only part about him that was still human. He probably was doing this for a quick buck.
"I know Isaac. We ran together a while back. He learned how to fight from me." Asher said aloud, shocking me. "What?"
"Nothing. We need to take this computer." I said to him.
"And what do we do about the house?" Asher asked.
"I guess we could leave it. Use it for... whatever." I responded. He knew what I meant because he nodded. "I'll grab the computer and we'll just go—"
I interrupted him, "I'm gonna... go into town. I'll be home soon." He stared at me weirdly but I just proceeded to leave.
I ended up at his house. Yes. Damon's house. I put him out of my mind while I was away but... I wanted to see him. I stood at the end of the driveway, trying to feel if anyone was home. Once I saw that no one was there I went up to his window. He always left it a little cracked so he could feel a bit of fresh air.
His room smelled like him, it was smothering. He smelled like expensive cologne and a bit of must. But in a working way not a slob way. He changed his wardrobe a little and had more expensive clothes.
I felt an off energy as i stayed in his room. Then I heard a car on the street. I stood by his window and looked down as the car approached the house. The car was a two door red Honda. It was Damon's car, I felt his presence. There was somebody else in the car.
I tried to focus to see who the person was. I reached my mind out to hers to get a hint. Then it hit me, Damon had Mya in the car. See, at first I would have just left. I wasn't exactly ready to face him and talk. But knowing it was Mya that he was with made my blood boil. So I stayed.
