It's been just a couple of weeks since I last saw Ashton. I felt like somebody ripped out my heart. I was so stupid for sleeping with Carolin. She could have never compared to Ashton. I was lonely.

Everyone thought Ashton moved away but I knew she was on an even worse killing binge than the ones in her past year. She was angry with me.
Candice's aunt moved in with her so she has a guardian. Although her aunt is pretty weird. She's young and seems so distant.

Mia didn't come to school but Zaria and Elijah did. We all sat together like friends and talked but that was it. In a way they missed Ashton like I did. Probably more since they all had been together for hundreds of years.
It was my fault she was gone. They were all thinking it and I knew it. I'm so stupid.

"Hey Ro." Carolin kissed my cheek and plopped down on the stool beside me. I frowned.

"What are you doing Carolin? We aren't together." I wiped my face with a disgusted look. She frowned.

"Roman, i thought since Ashton was gone-"

"Carolin stop being such a slut." I looked up to see Mia standing there. Her blonde hair was curled around her face and she stared down. Her skin looked more rich, which meant she was feeding from humans.

"I thought you left." Carolin rolled her eyes standing, trying to size Mia up.
"No I'm here, I just don't want to live with you. I got my own place." Mia sat beside me and glared at her. "You know that when Ashton comes back you're gonna be in deep shit." She crossed her fingers and stared at them.

Carolin stood and stormed away.

Candice was glaring at Mia so hard if she had powers Mia would be set on fire. "What's your problem?" She asked her.

"You're not welcome in this town."

"I grew up here. You can't tell me to leave. You're grandmother died because you were plotting against the wrong one. And I don't understand why you," her icy blue eyes landed on me, "are still friends with her. She tried to get your girlfriend killed."

I looked at Candice realizing she was right. I was happy with Ashton, despite her killing and she went and ruined it because... Well I never got my reason.
"She has a point. Ashton never plotted to help kill you. She saved you for Roman's sake. You couldn't do that for her now your life is in danger. She has a crazy twin brother. And he will show you no mercy-"

"May I sit here?" We all looked up to see a guy standing at the end of our table. He wore a creepy smile.
Candice had the widest eyes out of all of us. She knew exactly who he was.

"What are you doing here?" She asked.

"This is my son's school, I'm here meeting with his teachers. But I can't help but see his friends here. So I decided to come sit with you all." He sat beside Candice and twirled her hair around his finger. "I'm the infamous Michelangelo. But please, call me Michel. It's less of a mouthful."
"I know who you are." Mia stared at him.

"Do you now darling? You're Ashton's friend. Perhaps I should give you some history on Ashton and I." He smiled crossing his hands. "I saved Ashton's life. She was dying from a disease never heard of. That was all my fault. Ashton and I are meant to be together. She is my one true love and I am hers. I was a wild killer and they cursed me to fall in love with someone who was suppose to die. But I found her and saved her. Ashton is very powerful." He looked at me. "You are my ancestor, therefore you a related to Mike."

"Why are you still here though? And does Ashton know about your destiny?" Mia asked with wide eyes.

I was so focused on the part about them being meant to be and him being my ancestor. What kind of shit is this?

"I told her centuries ago, but I compelled her to forget." He answered honestly.

"Vampire compelling a vampire?" She raised an eyebrow.

"I'm an Original. I was one of the first couple of Vampires that roamed this earth. I am like the God of vampires." He seemed very pleased with himself.

"Is there any way you can find Ashton and bring her back?" Mia pressed on with wide eyes.

"Darling I want her back just as much as you do. But we need a witch to locate her-"

"Her brother is searching for her." Mia had eyes full of hope.

"Tell Asher to call off the search. He won't find her. Just like she couldn't find him." Michel demanded.

"So what the hell are you going to do?" Mia snapped getting angry. I grabbed her arm to calm her down. This guy could kill her faster than the blink of an eye.

"The most i can do is manipulate her dreams. But she will be hard to convince. She doesn't want to return at all. And Katherine would kill her."

"Katherine... Your wife?" Candice asked eagerly. Michel's eyes snapped to her.

"Yes and you two will no longer be in cahoots to kill Ashton. She's jealous and you're just human."

"Ashton is gone for good." I whispered.

"You people in this town pushed her away. You all keep trying to change her just let her be." Michel snapped. He looked at me in particular.

"Why are you still here?"

"Raising my son. I have unfinished business in Noland Falls." He stood. "While I'm here I will expect no disruptions." He walked off with that.

"He and Ashton...." I whispered.

"All this wouldn't happen if you hadn't ran your fucking mouth and woke him you dumb twat." Mia spat at Candice before storming off.

Candice sat there looking at her hands. Without Ashton this town was doomed to fall to Michel'a feet. He would either kill us or turn us all. We just had to find out what his motives are.
