I couldn't continue school for the rest of the day. The scene was in my mind permanently. I've never seen Ashton so murderous.
Call me crazy, but I was sort of excited to see her. I really wish she was at school to see me.
I feel sympathy for Candice but Karen was so right. She shouldn't have crossed Ashton and her family. And it hurt me to know what she did because she knows how much I love Ashton. And I don't want to see her hurt.
I drove to her house with the envelope from her mother in my hand. Before I could knock she answered the door. Her face was soft and calm, but I knew she didn't want to see me. "What are you doing here? I hope you aren't here for Candice because-"
"I came to see you. Uh- I have a letter that your mother wrote before she died. She came to visit me at my house. She knew she was going to be.... uhhh-murdered so she wrote you all letters. I'm giving her... Her last dying wish." I spoke casually but I really just wanted to wrap her in my arms and never let her go.
Ashton's eyes were locked on the envelope in my hands. "I-I don't want it. I don't want to read it." She whispered with huge eyes. I can't read it."
"Ashton, you have to."
"Why did she give it to you?" She asked.
"You can read my letter if you want, it kind of explains it all." I offered. After hesitating for a moment she stepped aside, allowing me to enter. We walked all the way to the dark den and sat on the couch.
The same couch where we once made out, I smirked.
Ashton took the envelope from me and searched for the letter with my name on it. She unfolded it and began reading immediately:
Dear Roman,
If you're reading this I have been murdered. I want you to take care of my daughter. She needs a moral soul like you. I know she still loves you, despite what you have done. You need to make it up to her and console her. Her family cannot help her in ways that you can.
If there is ever a time you feel like Michel deserves her you are wrong. He is not capable of the love you can possess.
Also, Roman you can physically help keep my children alive. Your family is full of Casters. Casters are witches in a sense, the only difference is there are dark and light Casters. You haven't been claimed yet, you won't be until your 18th birthday.
Slowly you will develop powers. Zaria can help you keep them under control, I have taught her everything I know. You also need to protect your sister, she is vulnerable and we don't want a remake of Vasile.
Remember that if you need my spirit you can always summon me, you can contact all the dead witches and Casters. Don't hesitate, I'm leaving the survival of my most prized possessions in your care, my beautiful children.
In loving memory,
Vivian AngelescuAshton looked at me. "What the hell is a Caster?" She asked with wide eyes. I shrugged. How the hell would I know if she didn't?
This world was full of a lot of things I wasn't sure existed. Next their gonna tell me that leprechauns are real.
"Ashton... Is there any way we can... Get back together maybe?" I asked with wide eyes. She avoided my gaze, stared down at the words.
"Roman, you really betrayed me. Having sex with Carolin? Really? But I can't fight it, I still love you. I just can't... Be with you. You cheated. I'm a vampire I'm not big on making mistakes." Her words hurt me. But she was right I was stupid for letting Carolin come between us. I honestly don't know what took over me.
"As long as I know I still have a place in your heart." I said in a low voice.
I wanted her I couldn't take it. But I had to earn her trust back. I would, anything to get my girl back.
