''Would you like some whipped cream on your mocha?'' I ask the lady with a bright smile and she nods eagerly.
''Oh yes please, you know how I love whipped cream.'' She giggles and I put more whipped cream than usual on her hot beverage.
''Here you go, now be careful it's pretty hot,'' I tell her.
''Thank you, dear.'' She walks off to a table near the window. She's always here at ten o'clock sharp in the coffee shop and sits every single time alone at that place for an hour.
I turn around only to see Ayden running intothe the coffee shop, his hair still dripping wet from the quick shower he took before coming here.
''You're late.'' My boss yells from the table in the back of the store, reading some papers.
''Yeah sorry, someone hid my keys.'' He shoots me a glare and I suppress a grin.
''And someone forgot to pay me for the taxi.''
''Is that really a good reason in your humble opinion?'' Ayden gives me a look and takes place next to me behind the counter. He flattens his hands on it, and looks around before nodding toward the lady next to the window.
''Hello Mrs. Chapman, how are you doing today?''
''Very good, thank you.'' She responds with a giggle.
I go to the coffee maker and start washing it, having nothing else to do.
''So,'' Ayden says before crossing his arms over his chest.
''So what?''
''Have you seen Cameron? Because I received a text to know where you work and the person was anonymous. It's not really my thing to brag that I have every single number of the people at our school, but I do, unless those of the football team.''
''Oh yeah, it's so not your thing to brag at all.'' I laugh shaking my head, ''Yes, I did see him but I left quickly to get to work. Unless some people, I like getting to work on time.''
''That's why she's my favorite employee.'' My boss says walking past us.
''You're not supposed to have favorites Georgio!'' Ayden yells back before sobering down, ''When will you start the Game officially?''
''What do you mean?'' I ask moving to the sink to clean it as well.
''I know your Game mode and right now, how you're acting, you're not in it.''
''Still not understanding. I do my Game mode when the guy is near.''
''You saw him this morning and rumors have already told me you brushed him off.'' He gives me a pointed look.
''Yeah well, I don't know.'' I sigh and drop the towel I was holding. ''I feel reluctant to the idea of having this guy around. I know I'll have to work hard, he's the master of the Game and I feel disgusted.''
''Because of what? Yes, he's the biggest jerk on this Earth but you've dated jerks before and still won every single time.'' He points out but I shake my head looking at the floor.
''He's the one who created the Game in the first place and I hate him with a passion just for that.''
''Because of your-''
''Yes, whatever.'' I cut him off and he puts a hand on my shoulder.
''Call it off if you want.''
''I can't, I have to win this stupid Game. You know it better than anyone else.'' I say and take back my towel from the sink. His hand falls from my shoulder.
