''Are you alright?'' I ask Cameron as I see him kind of nervous.
''Yes, I just never bring a girl alone at my house.'' He tells me and I frown.
''That's surprising.''
''Why is that?'' He asks as he reaches for my hand. Warmth envelops me.
''You did things with girls you said.'' I try not to sound as disgusted as I feel. It's a usual thing, I know, but it seems wrong in a way since he ditches girls like they're nothing.
''With one.'' He laughs, ''And it was never at my house.''
''Why is that?''
He sighs before giving me a small smile, ''You ask too many questions.''
''Just trying to get to know you,'' I tell him.
''If you know too much you won't say those three wonderful words.'' He winks.
''If I don't know enough, I will never say those three awful words.''
He parks the car in the entryway and comes out of the car. I follow behind and we walk up the stairs to his front porch before getting inside. The house almost looks different from when there are parties here.
''I still can't believe how big your house is,'' I say.
''That's because my parents are always working and never here.'' He says as he walks away from the front door. He starts making his way toward the kitchen before looking back at me, ''Aren't you coming?''
''Where is your bedroom?'' I ask.
He frowns, ''Well, it's on the second floor but no one-'' I start running immediately to find it before he can stop me. I hear footsteps behind me, following close. ''Alexa, no!''
I don't answer and get inside the first bedroom. It's a little boy's room, full of toys and blueprints. Definitely not his but I get on the other side of the bed to keep from getting caught. He gets in the room and looks at me with a smirk.
''You can't get out.''
''Watch me.'' I retort and take a teddy bear from the bed.
''Not Mr. Peanut.'' He says holding his hands in the air. I was about to throw it at him but oh well.
''Get back from the door or I cut his head.''
He puts a hand on his heart, ''You wouldn't dare.''
''Test me.''
''You're crazy.'' He smirks and lifts his hands in the air once again before stepping away from the door. I make my way to the door and at the last minute I throw the teddy bear - aka Mr.peanut - at his face and continue to run to the next door.
I enter a room with a desk with lots of drawings piled on it, a double bed in the middle of the room, a large window showing the outside, another desk with other drawings, and school book, and a big dresser. He has as well a bathroom adjacent to his bedroom. A lazy boy and a Tv with a game cube and a PS4 are in another corner. Typical boy.
Strong arms envelop me, holding still on a teddy bear, before lifting me up. I cry out before being thrown on the bed.
Cameron wastes no time to climb on top and stand only a few inches from my face, mint and cologne reaching my nose. We both breathe heavily as we stare at each other, big grins on our faces.
''I found it.'' I say triumphant.
''You did.''
''What's my prize?'' I wink teasingly and he licks his lips, getting closer to me. I push him off laughing. ''Not today big boy.''
''Why won't you kiss me?'' He asks, smirking as he lies next to me.
''I still don't want to,'' I say looking at the ceiling. I find little stars that glow at night.
''Why not?''
I glance back at him, ''Because for once I don't have to. I want to wait until I want it.''
He smiles, genuinely smiles, ''What if I told you it would help me to say those three words?''
''I wouldn't believe you,'' I whisper as I look down at his lips. It was tempting but was it out of habit?
''Fine.'' He says laughing.
''Why do you have stars?'' I ask looking back at the ceiling.
''That's for when my little brother is scared and comes to sleep with me.''
''So you have a little brother?'' I ask even though it makes sense with the teddy bear laying now in the bedroom.
''Yes and a big one but I rarely see him. He's kind of a player so he's usually at a girl's house for the night.''
''Ironic.''
''What is?''
''That you both are players, is your little brother following the path?'' I ask laughing but he doesn't laugh or smile. He simply shakes his head, deeply serious.
''There's no way my little brother is going to play the Game or be considered a 'player' as you say.''
''Why's that?'' I roll to lean on my elbows, looking at him. ''Why don't you want your little brother to do like you if you do it and think it's alright.''
He looks up at me, ''I don't think it's alright. But it's not like I had a choi-''
''Cameron!'' A small boy yells from downstairs and we hear footsteps running toward us.
Cameron looks at me a bit panicked before a small boy, maybe seven, runs into the room. His short brown hair manages to fall over his eyes and his bright green eyes laugh on their own accord. His big smile though evaporates when he sees me and the teddy bear laying on the floor.
''Why is Mr. Peanut on the floor in your room?'' He asks, his eyes big with questions, ''Who are you?'' He asks me.
''Her name is Alexa,'' Cameron says as he sits up and opens his arms. Little Cameron runs to him and jumps in his arms before sitting in his lap.
''What's your name?'' I ask with a smile.
''Dimitry.'' He says shyly as he blushes.
''Well nice to meet you,'' I say offering my hand and suddenly he isn't shy anymore. He shakes it vigorously.
''What are you doing here young man?'' I hear a woman's voice say from the doorway and we both seem to notice each other at the same time.
She has long blond hair like me but her eyes are a vibrant kind of green, looking a lot like Cameron's. She's tall and slim, with curves right where they should be, but she looks exhausted with bags under her eyes.
''I didn't know you had company, I'm Vero.'' She tells me smiling a little.
''I'm Alexa,'' I say shyly. I feel like Dimitry all of a sudden.
''You remind me of someone.'' She tells me frowning but I only shrug.
''A lot of people say that I have a common face,'' I reply with a small laugh.
''That must be it.'' She nods to herself.
''Is he coming tonight?'' Cameron asks her.
''No, he told me he had some party or something.'' She responds and I wonder who they're talking about.
''And...''
''He's working late.''
Cameron looks at me, ''Want to have diner here?''
I barely manage to hide my surprise and I see his mother do the same, ''I don't want to impose.'' I say scratching the back of my head.
''Oh no please stay.'' His mother says happily, a bright smile on her face. ''We've got enough food.''
I look at Cameron who's smiling at me as well and the words leave my mouth before I can stop them, ''Yes, of course, I'd love that.''
