"So, you're my soulmate?" asked the guy that I hope would fall for me unconditionally. Just breathe, I'm just playing a part in a play. "Oh, you're here, I wasn't expecting you to be here so soon," I say to him as I slowly turn around. I quickly look over his "costume." He is casually in his uniform, since there is a game today, and drew fur all over his face. He drew on a dog nose and a snarl. He was supposed to be a werewolf-football player. He tried to tell who I was, but surprisingly couldn't. "Who are you?" he asks me. I won't tell him, it would ruin the whole scene. "My dear, I am the one to hold you in your darkest moments, enjoy your happiest memories, and to make many more with you as time goes on... If you accept me for who I am." I say with appropriate rising and falling of my voice. "May I have a name to this mysterious person I'm supposed to spend a lifetime with?" he asks, slightly amused. "Not until a later time, Mr. Werewolf," I say back with a smile playing at the corner of my lips.
Those damned butterflies are back and stronger than ever as I look in his beautiful hazel eyes. He looks back into my eyes and I finally ask him a question, "Would you like to dance?" "To what music, my mysterious one?" he asks me, he had a small glint in his eyes. "To the beat of our synchronized hearts, of course," I said. I curtsied and bowed my head, this was Tootsie's cue to start the music. Liam bowed his head to me and held out his hand for me to grab. This was going to be harder than I thought, I keep losing my character at times. Just breathe, just breathe.
Then, I heard a familiar melody... It wasn't the Beauty and the Beast theme song... "I found a love, for me. Darling just dive right in. Follow my lead." It was Perfect by Ed Sheeran, but it was the Duet version with Beyoncé. I swear, Tootsie must've changed the disk last minute to make it seem more romantic than a children's story. "Well, I guess there was music in the background," said Liam with a slight laugh. I lead him for a minute as we started to masquerade dance until he figured out what we were doing, then, I let him lead. Everyone in drama has to learn how to dance as if they were in a ball, since every year, there is an old play that consists of this dance.
"Baby I'm dancing in the dark, with you between my arms. Barefoot on the grass, while listening to our favourite songs. When I saw you in that dress, looking so beautiful. I don't deserve this. Darling, you look perfect tonight." As Beyoncé sang this part of the song and combined with Ed Sheeran, I looked right into Liam's eyes and saw that he was completely smiling, but was confused. He still didn't know who I was. We were both enjoying the time, though. I felt as if I was falling even harder for this guy. As the final chorus came to be, we sang together in perfect harmony. "Baby I'm, Dancing in the dark with you between my arms. Barefoot on the grass, while listening to our favourite songs. I have faith in what I see, now I know that I have met an Angel in person. And she (he) looks perfect. I don't deserve this. You look perfect, tonight." Liam slowly spun me and dipped me as the last few chords ended the song altogether. After he stood me back up, we stared into each other's eyes. I swore I would've been lost in those beautiful eyes, if it weren't for the clapping and a specific someone interrupting our moment.
"Um, what is going on here? Why aren't we all going to class, especially you Liam?" said Cinderella. Liam quickly blinked and snapped out of our trance at the sound of his name. "Oh, um, sorry. We have to get to class, thank you for the dance," he said. Wow, the cheerleader's name might've been Cinderella, but Liam could've been the one to lose a shoe running away. The witch ruining our moment sent glares my way and went on to the one class she doesn't have with Liam. "If you ever try anything like that again, I will make your life a living hell. Don't think that I don't know who you are," she said to me.
I walked in a similar direction as Liam but had to go to a different class. Tootsie came up to me and congratulated me on fulfilling our plan. All of a sudden, the bell rang and we had to leave, we only had two minutes to finally get to our class after all of that. I quickly made my way to the class, ready to see my werewolf for our little game again today.
After I made it to the class, I told everyone to not tell the other class who I was. I also specified on any football players that didn't already know. They all agreed, with many questions thrown my way. They thought the performance was beautiful and I thanked them all with my face turning red. Finally, after 3 more minutes, Liam's class came in. He did a slight double-take when he noticed I was in this class. I came prepared and brought half face masks for half of the girls in the class, so he couldn't pinpoint me specifically. All the girls agreed to help me hide my identity and had the masks on. My teacher told the other class to refer to the girls with the mask on by the color of mask or by our clothing type. We then continued our game as normal. Liam kept looking at me and called on me to go against him a few times. He was obviously currious as to who I actually was, but I wasn't going to be the only person in my class to wear a face mask. I wasn't going to be spotted out that quickly.
