soft music filtered through the calm atmosphere with the delicious smell of cookies mixing in. the shop was closed today since holidays come and go but two people were huddled in the back. both covered in white sugary powder since someone decided to have a little fun and dust it on the oblivious boy but they weren't complaining.

"wheres ty again?" joshua looked up from his phone and to the blonde who was busy taking out a batch of sugar cookies. "he's with family today. apparently, they still care about him even after all they have done to him."

jenna hummed and took off the oven mitts, "of course they'd still care about him, he's their child. parents and kids always have arguments but they still love their child, they just want the best for their kids."

"I highly doubt parents torture their kids by chaining them to a wall and not feeding them for weeks but I guess everybody's raised differently." joshua thought to himself and hopped off the counter.

he sneakily snatched a cookie and bit into it, untangling the small white apron from around his waist and throwing it up onto its wanted hook, "I'm heading home, is it ok if I take some cookies along?"

jenna nodded her head, "of course."

only a minute later did joshua have a small tub of cookies, "see you later, jen."

-

a small thump sounded as joshua dropped the tub of cookies on the kitchen counter, tugging off his jacket and throwing it off towards the couch. he got a text from tyler saying he was home and would most likely be asleep since his family 'tires him out' and since blurry hasn't bothered joshua at all today, the boy was so 'looking' forward to hearing the obnoxious voice again.

"speak of the damn devil." joshua grumbled lowly as the legitimate devil himself slowly crawled inside the boys head.

"oh boy does it feel nice to be back, miss me?"

joshua just shook his head and opened up the bedroom door. blurry started to rant.

"you're lucky you didn't come with, cause holy hell it was horrible. the kids don't know how to shut the fuck up at all and don't get me started on his mother or father. those bastards tortured the hell out of tyler the whole time we were there and they didn't even let him eat. they didn't let him contribute in the killing activity's and you have no idea how much I wanted to take over and torture them to see if they liked it because they won't only pissing him off but me as well."

joshua paused taking his sweats off and looked over at blurry, "a-are you serious?"

blurry nodded.

"I've done some terrible things but that was a new low for tyler."

joshua looked over at the sleeping brunet and tugged his pants back up, "why didn't you help?"

blurry cracked his knuckles.

"he told me not to intervene, he said I would've made things worse if I did so I didn't. I would've if he told me to."

the red-eyed demon followed joshua into the kitchen.

"you made cookies? I keep on forgetting you work at a bakery."

joshua didn't answer and took off the lid. he would've made tyler something but he already knew they haven't gone to the store in a long time. he was kind of surprised to see tyler up and awoke when he walked back into their room with a couple cookies in hand.

blurry hummed.

"I see that sleeping beauty is awake, perfect timing."

tyler rolled his eyes as joshua sat right next to him and handed him a cookie, "we don't really have food but jen and I made cookies."

the brunet smiled and kissed his love on the forehead before taking a bite. blurry filled the empty space by talking.

"already told him about the horrid trip so you didn't have to. maybe the trip wouldn't have been horrible if you would've let me take over but whatever."

tyler rolled his eyes again and pulled joshua onto his lap, "you would've made it worse and probably would've got me chained up in the basement."

blurry scoffed.

"you're a grown ass adult you dumbass, why in the ungodly hell would they lock you in the basement?"

joshua blocked out their conversation and laid his head on his boyfriends shoulder, taking in the warmth. his life maybe isn't the best but he sure wouldn't want it any other way.
