the younger groaned tiredly when he felt a sand-paper like tongue cascade up his face repeatedly, stuffing his face beneath his pillow and hearing a soft whine from the intruder. he felt his little bundle of energy crawl under his arm and paw at the pillow, he yawned before taking his head out from underneath his pillow and checking the time.
12:47 a.m.
"you got to be kidding me." joshua thought as jim looked up at him with a tilted head. he sighed and kissed jim on the head before cuddling him up in his arms and getting out of bed. what joshua didn't know or felt was his boyfriends arm lazily holding him so when he moved to get up, that woke up tyler.
"baby?" joshua still got up and plopped jim down on the comforters as tyler sat up, "its one in the morning, where are you going?"
the younger just pointed at the pup as he walked out of the room, tyler hummed and looked over at jim who happily pranced his way.
"I blame myself for adopting you and we haven't even had you for twenty-four hours," tyler mummered as jim plopped himself down on the brunets lap and curled up before falling asleep, "and did you really just come in here to sleep? you're lucky josh likes you."
only a moment later did joshua return, he didn't look very happy.
"I'm freaking grateful we bought a gate," joshua said as he rubbed his eyes tiredly and looked at the sleeping jim on tylers lap, "also that may be cute but I need sleep."
and with that, joshua picked the pup up and left the room. tyler just closed his eyes and laid back down as joshua came back in and closed the door.
"we also should close the door at night." joshua added on as he climbed back onto the bed and laid right on top of the brunet.
tyler hummed and wrapped his arms around him, "I think jim feels betrayed right now."
joshua laughed, "he'll forget about it by morning when I'm actually awake and want to play with him."
tyler didn't respond back but kissed his forehead, hearing barks coming from their living room but making no attempts to get up.
this was going to take a long time to get used to.

joshua was at least hoping the tiny pup would be fast asleep but after hearing whines and barks from the bathroom, his hope went right down the drain. the only thing that surprised him was finding tyler still in bed when he woke up, but joshua couldn't blame him because he would've stayed in bed too if he didn't have to go to work.
joshua didn't know how just a tiny pup could hold so much energy.
he was sleepily eating cereal when jim decided to jump onto his lap and almost make him spill his food.
"you know what? lets go wake up ty, yeah?" joshua sleepily told the pup as he picked jim up and headed off to their bedroom.
jim was practically radiating off joy as joshua opened up the door, walked over to the bed, and plopped the pup down.
it didn't take long for tyler to wake up.
"what the fu-jim? what the hell are you doing in here?" joshua just watched with a bored expression as tyler sat up and picked little jim up.
"you're so god damn lucky josh likes you or I swear to god you'd be out of here." tyler whispered threateningly to the pup who just wagged his tail.
joshua rolled his eyes and crawled onto the bed, taking jim out of tylers hands and setting him down on the floor, "stop being mean to him, hes just a pup."
tyler looked at his boyfriend with a raised brow, "says the guy who took him out of our room at one in the morning and basically putting him in puppy jail."
"says the guy who hates animals and yet got a puppy."
"touché."
