What started as Flash being grounded from using his dad's car and forced to walk to school every morning and afternoon ultimately turned into daily walks with you. Even when Flash was allowed to use the car again, he refused, deciding it was much better for him to walk to your apartment and walk you to school.
Even if it meant getting up before the sun rose in the sky, Flash was happy to wake up, get dressed, scarf down a bit of breakfast, text you good morning, and then head out.
Like any other day, he knocked softly on your front door. A moment later, it opened. You smiled wide, eyes still a little red from sleep, but hair and makeup done, and grabbed the doorknob as you stepped out.
"Flash is here. Bye, Mom, thanks for breakfast!" you called. You shut the door and adjusted your backpack straps.
"Morning," Flash greeted, hands in the pockets of his yellow blazer.
"Good morning," you said right back, reaching up to plant one kiss on his cheek.
You did it every day, but it still got a reaction out of him. He didn't know why but assumed it was because he liked you more and more every day (and that was falling in love, right?).
He blushed, eyes flashing, and took a hand out of his pocket. He held it out and open for you. You slipped your fingers between his and started off, pulling him beside you, arms swinging.
"Yikes, it's foggy," you said. You shivered. "And cold. I thought it was supposed to be in the seventies all week."
"It is," he said, "but it's only fifty something right now."
You frowned and held one arm tightly to your side. Flash noticed how you wore only a thin t-shirt and jeans. He was shrugging out of his blazer a second later, dropping his backpack briefly to the ground.
You stopped, bringing your two now free hands and tucking them under your arms. "W-What are you doing? It's cold, Flash, I don't wanna stay out longer than-"
"I'm giving you my jacket," he stated proudly, holding it out to you by the collar. "Take it before you freeze to death."
You smiled and grabbed it, head ducked as you blushed and put your arms in the sleeves. It was far too big on you but looked good anyway, Flash thought - although anything of his would look good on you.
A sense of pride swelled in his chest and he smirked, grabbing his backpack and sliding it up his arms. You rolled the sleeves of his blazer up and he took your hand again, squeezing your cold fingers.
"Is that better?" he asked.
"Much," you sighed. "Thank you, Flash."
"No problem," he said. He nudged you. "You look super cute, by the way."
You blushed more. "Flash, stop." But you smiled.
Halfway to the school, Flash was starting to get chills. The sun was coming up but the temperature wasn't. If anything, it was colder than before.
He tried to distract himself from the cold, choosing instead to stare at the side of your head. He liked how the morning sun brought out new highlights in your hair and how your hair was kind of frizzy from the damp air and he thought about how mad you were going to be when you saw that in the mirror but how gorgeous you looked right now, with your hair contrasted against the mustard blazer that was his-
And wow, it was cold.
He shivered violently before he could stop himself. You looked up, concerned and lips melting into a frown.
"Flash," you said.
He looked at you. "Y-Yeah?"
"Babe, look at you, you're cold," you said, stopping. You yanked your hand away and quickly took off your backpack, shoving it in his arms.
"N-no! No, I'm not!" he insisted. He grabbed your hand to stop you from taking off the blazer. "Babe, I'm fine. Not cold at all!"
"Yes, you are! Take your stupid jacket back, Flash, before you get sick!"
He rolled his eyes. "You can't get sick from being cold. That's not how you get germs."
"Okay, fine," you spat. You shook your head and frowned. "Stop giving me your blazer when you know you're going to need it."
"But you looked cold!" he exclaimed.
"Flash," you said, shaking your head.
"And you're so cute in it," he continued, hoping to get a blushing reaction out of you. When he didn't, he sighed. "Babe, I'm fine. It's more important to me that you stay warm than me."
You looked almost sad. "Flash," you said softly.
"What? Was that not something you wanted to hear?" he asked.
"No, it was, I guess," you said, pushing your lips together. "As long as you're not cold."
"I'm not," he assured you, smiling.
"Okay," you said. You nodded and put your backpack on. "Okay." He took your hand again and you both walked a little faster, eager to get out of the cold and to make up lost time.
You kept stealing glances at Flash. He noticed. When he caught you eye, you smiled so big it looked like it hurt. He laughed.
"What's with you now?"
"Nothing," you said. "I'm just thinking."
"About?" he pressed.
"About how much you must love me," you said.
His laughter grew a little breathless. He looked away for a second, feeling your other hand slip over your intertwined ones, brushing across his wrist, trailing up his arm, and grasping him just as the elbow.
"Um, yeah," he said, turning his head back to look at you. "I do. And it's a lot."
You nodded. "Me, too." You leaned your head against his arm and hugged it close, hand rubbing feeling back into it. "I'll keep you warm, Flash."
He looked down at you, smiling blissfully. His heart swelled as he walked onto school grounds, you hanging off of him, wearing his blazer, making everyone stare in awe and jealousy - but none of the reactions mattered to him, really. All that mattered was you-
And you loved him.
