"Anger is only one letter away from danger."

I lead them down the familiar path to the cabin, ignoring their questions.

"Why are we going to the cabin? Why are we going to the cabin? Why ar—"

"Say it again," I snarl, whirling around to face Boaz. "I dare you."

Boaz's dark eyes dart around and he looks like he's debating it. Glaring at him, I manage to change his mind and bring his skin color down a few shades.

In silence, the eight of us walk together to the cabin. I clench and unclench my hands as my nerves grow. I know the boys and I know they really don't care about what we do on our first date, but I kinda do, oddly enough. I mean, it's our first date. We only get one.

We arrive at the cabin and Boaz makes a beeline right for the fireplace and gets a fire starting, this time with his powers. He's come a long way since that day he shut down. He can handle small amounts of flames and I know that he's so close to complete control. Boaz just needs a reason, the motivation to control his fire. Then he'll be able to own his power.

The others look around the cabin, grins on their faces as they realize my plan. Rolled up sleeping bags line the far wall with pillows on top of each bag. Beside the fireplace are marshmallows, gram crackers, and chocolate. Lots and lots of chocolate. Asher looks like he is in heaven when he spots the food.

"Great idea, Rage!" Boaz tells me happily, opening up the marshmallows.

"Yeah," William agrees. "Are we staying the night here? Like camping?"

"Well, that's what the sleeping bags are for, dummy," Kolton says with a snort.

We all just kinda stare at him. Kolton? Calling someone else dumb? Oh, how times have changed...

Kolton grabs some of the chocolate and flops on the couch after tossing Nekoda a package of chocolate. Gage carefully begins to assemble his s'more and Darkon approaches me silently.

"Thank you," He breathes, leaning down so he can be quieter. "A few of us, myself included, were getting worried that you didn't feel the same way. I'm glad you asked us out."

"Me too," I reply, my lips curling upward in a genuine smile. "I was getting worried you guys didn't feel the same way."

"Oh, really?" Darkon says, as if he doesn't believe me.

His dark eyes drop down to my lips.

"Nope," I say confidently.

Closing the gap between us, I wrap my arms around his lowered neck and kiss him just as confidently. A second pair of arms wrap around me as Kolton comes up behind me, kissing the back of my neck and making his way to my lips, drawing a moan from me as Darkon and Kolton trade places.

"Alright, alright," Boaz says. "Careful, you guys. This is only the first date. We have Rage's reputation to protect."

Kolton, Darkon, and I are wearing sheepish, giddy grins as we break apart and sit back down. Gage takes his perfect s'more and sits down next to me to eat it.

"Don't think I haven't noticed," He says lowly.

"Noticed what?" I ask, furrowing my brows.

"That I'm the only one you haven't kissed," Gage replies. "But I'm glad. Since you made me wait, I'm going to kiss the hell out of you. When the time is right."

My heart is beating wildly at his words. They're just words, calmly spoken as he eats his second dessert of the day, but they affect me more than I want to admit.

"I'm going to get a s'more now," I say stiffly, needlessly narrating my actions.

Gage smiles smugly and drops his gaze to his s'more which he finishes off.

I send a flare of heat through my marshmallow so it is instantly golden and sandwich it that way.

"You are so strange," Boaz comments flatly, eying me make my s'more.

"Huh?" Is my clever response.

"No one eats their marshmallow like that," He replies, setting his on fire.

He eats the bubbled, dark layer off the top of his marshmallow before igniting it again. Boaz eats his marshmallow like this, layer by layer as I watch with a slightly weirded out look on my face.

"No," I correct him. "No one eats their marshmallow like that."

"I do, actually," Asher says, before ducking his head shyly. "It makes it last longer."

"Okay, you're not the only one," I amend. "But that doesn't mean it's normal, Boaz."

"Ice cream and s'mores," William says happily. "Best date ever."

"Ice cream and chocolate, for me," Darkon says. "I don't really like marshmallows."

"Interesting," I respond, somewhat taken aback.

It feels like the more time I spend with them, the more I realize I have so much to learn from them and about them.

My shoulders droop as I realize that I won't have more time. I only have two more days with them. Two more days until Kitrina comes for me. I still don't know what exactly she wants with me, but I know she's coming for me. That much at least, she's made clear.

My resolve steels with my thinking.

I'm going to make the most of my time before I go.

Shout out to princxssi for being a crazed, weird unicorn!

Above is how I picture Victoria. Except maybe a brighter shade of green for the hair.
