to say jungkook was guilty was an understatement. he wanted to punch himself so badly after slapping jennie.

what was he thinking? he'd never hurt a girl, yet he had just put his hands on his bestfríend.

pdnim had gave all of them a break and it's been a few months. of course, this break only meant that we didn't have schedules. we still had to prepare for a new song.

yes, jungkook did apologise to jennie after a few weeks of her avoiding him. but it's not the same anymore.

two weeks after the incident, jennie's been trying to avoid jungkook all along. her members knew why, but didn't want to interfere.

whenever they had to practice, jennie would be attentive thoughout but she flees the room after they're done.

jungkook's been trying to figure out how in the world he's going to apologise without it being awkward.

about a day or two later, he tries to catch up with jennie after practice. it was obvious she's been ignoring him but this time, he'd want to make everything right again.

he caught up with her and held her wrist tightly. jennie turns back, trying to pull her hand away. she kept a smile on her face.

'yes?' she said politely.

jungkook pulls her to his chest.
jennie froze.

why in the world is he hugging me as if i was going to disappear?

that thought left her mind when jungkook starts talking. 'jennie-ah, i'm sorry. i didn't mean to hurt you, not only by words but by putting my hand on you. i don't know what came to me, i'm really sorry.' he says in one breath.

jennie looks up to him, wriggling out of his grasp. jungkook lets her go and stares at her, hoping to finally get closure.

'i don't hold grudges, of course i'll forgive you.' jennie says. jungkook was just about to pick her up and twirl her around when she continues, 'but just know that it isn't going to be the same anymore. yes, we'll be friends, but i don't think i'm ready to be as close friends as we were a few months ago, i'm sorry.'

and she walks out the door. the members who were intently watching came by jungkook and offered him a hug.

'hey, at least she still wants to be friends.' jin says, trying to look at the positive sides of the situation.

yes, they all felt bad for him but they couldn't help him. it was jennie's choice and everyone knew that she was still hurting on the inside.

truth be told, they were just relieved that she didn't make a decision to leave the group.
