Back at Stark tower in New York, the team had been working for days now trying to locate (y/n) and Loki. SHIELD had even gotten involved once they heard it was Loki related. To make matters worse, the person who was kidnapped is a very well known author. Just as popular as Nicholas Sparks! How do they keep the public from knowing such a kind hearted author, adorded by many, was kidnapped by a powerful enemy not even from Earth? These thoughts were driving everyone mad, and Fury was becoming more annoyed. The added fact that she has incredible power of her own that Loki can manipulate to his advantage is making this worse. Now Fury, and the Avengers have to be ready every second of the day for an attack, keeping everyone's guard up.
Inside Tony's lab in Stark tower, he and Bruce have been trying to track Loki's magic, while Natasha and Clint have been searching through the computers like the men in the helicarrier to locate them. However, Loki was clever and knew they would do this. He already had something planned. Something that would even terrify (y/n) if she found out. Natasha continued going over files and video footage to try and find the two while Cap worked with Thor in planning an attack. Natasha found a video that made her eyes grow wide. "Guys, you're gonna want to see this." All the men came over as she played the video of when Loki teleported away with (y/n). "Nat, we've seen this. We were all there when they teleported away." Clint said. "But do you see what we missed? Look closer. What does that look like? What he uses to teleport." Everyone looked closer, then Thor slammed his fist down, being the first to notice. "Bifrost!" He yells. Tony had his arms folded until he heard that. He threw up a dramatic hand before hitting his thigh, "Great. That's just great. They aren't even on Earth anymore. No wonder we cant find them!" Natasha looked at the screen as she replayed the scene. "Fury won't be happy about this... when do we tell him?" Clint looked at her as he answered her question, "We should do so as soon as possible. Let's get him up on the screen now." The team agreed on that, then headed to their conference room.
The conference room was a large room with, like any room in Stark tower, floor to ceiling black windows, a stone wall and sleek tiles on the floor in grey. The space in the center of the room was occupied by a very big grey round table with the Avengers logo on it. Everyone took their seats on one half of the table with their backs to the windows, waiting for Tony to do his thing. "JARVIS, I want you to get Fury online. Set up the screen for the confrence." He said in a serious tone. "Yes sir," the A.I. answered. Not long after the Holographic image of Fury came up and the first thing said was, "You must have found something if you're calling me directly Mr. Stark." Tony looked at the table's edge, not excited to talk to Fury, let alone tell him the news. "Yea, and you're not gonna be too happy about it either."
"I'm listening." Fury says rather curiously.
After explaining what they found and showing Fury the video of (y/n)'s abduction, he sighed, very annoyed. "You have got to be kidding me... they're not even on earth? Well where else can they be?!" Steve looked up at him, "That's what we're trying to find out Sir. But it could take some time." Fury's tone changed to a be a bit more serious but still frustrated, "We done have time. Loki could very well be manipulating her as we speak, to do his bidding." Everyone started to pitch in ideas and ways that they could possibly solve this problem but to no avail. Eventually the call with Fury ended and everyone in the room was silent.
Clint ran his hand through his short blonde hair as he thought, "So what do we do now?" He asked. Bruce looked at him with his arms folded, "If I had a sample of his magic I could have traced it... but if their in another world, there's not much I can do. Earth's technology is nowhere near advanced enough to track one person across the galaxy, let alone two." Tony groaned when he heard that, and Natasha stayed quiet. Steve was the first to speak up, trying to remain hopeful, "Well there has to be some way to find out where they went and how to get there." Thor then picked his head up and looked at Steve, "...There may be one who can help us..."
On the otherside of the universe, (y/n) was in her room playing with her cat. She tossed a small pink ball of yarn to one side of the room and watched as the big fluffy Skittles ran over to pounce on it. She smiled a moment and looked over at the window. She studied it for a while until something occurred to her. Something that didn't seem right. Wait... that cant be right... She thought to herself. She got up and look at the window, then thought about the layout of the apparent. How can an apartment have a window in every room... thats not possible... there should be a wall were my windows and the bathroom windows are, because of the hallway on the otherside...
The longer she thoughts about it, the less it made sence.
Come to think of it, I've never seen that hallway.. nor have I ever seen him open the door to the hallway...
Her curiosity got the better of her and she left the room to go see that door in the living room. She quietly walked down the hallway so she didnt disturb Loki and make him wonder what she was up to. When she finally made it to the door, she slowly reached for it, not sure what she might find on the otherside. As she was about to turn the knob, a hot breath hit her ear. "What do you think you're doing?" It was Loki, and he didn't sound too pleased. She jumped a little and turned to see him standing there, glaring at her with his arms behind his back. She stuttered at first but managed to answer him, "I... I-I was, just going... for a walk-"
"No." He cut her off before she could finish, then he started to walk away.
"Well why not?!" She yelled impatiently.
"If you leave SHIELD will find you, thus find me." He answered simply. He always had an answer for her questions. Not one slip up. His voice never wavered when he gave his answers either. The answers were given simply, calm, and they were straight to the point. Which would be expected for a silver tongue.
He continued to walk off and she began to grow more impatient with him. What's really going on here? She thought. (Y/n) looked around and soon focused her attention on the window across the room. She squinted her eyes as she looked at it, then walked over to the window and pressed her hand flat against it, looking up at the endless sky. Funny... I haven't seen any signs of rain these last few days... then again... I haven't seen any clouds out there at all! Her eyes widened as she caught a glimmer of a small green light in the sky. She glared at the green light curiously. It looks so close... but I know it's far away... but what is it? And why do I have the urge to reach out, and touch it? Again, her curiosity got the better of her, and she held her hand up to the spot in the sky, through the glass where the light would be. She pointed her finger and tapped the spot where it would be and the light moved a little. She quickly removed her hand in shock, Wait a second... that light isnt outside... it's in the inside?! She went to tap it again and just like before, it moved. Almost mimicking a ripple in the water of a pond or puddle. She went to get a stool, set it against the floor to ceiling window, got up and pressed her hand to the light again. This time it rippled, and flickered. Then in an instant, the light started to pull open like a portal, in a circular motion. On the otherside, (y/n) could see a completely different world. The light continued to spread until the windows no longer showed Cincinnati.
The world in fornt of her, was nothing like she'd ever seen. In fact, it didnt even look like earth. The was no sun, barely any light, no color, no people. This foreign land was void of any anything that could be found it the spring, summer or fall. Like an endless winter. Ice and snow covered everything. There was no sign of life that she could see. No plants, no animals, no people, nothing. All she saw were icy mountains all around, snow blow through the air, and frost starting to form on the glass. She was curious, but frightened more than anything now. "Where am I?" She asked to no one, scared and confused.
"Welcome to Jotunhiem."
