If it were possible for movies to be more boring than interesting, (y/n) found that watching a string of movies (while not in the mood for them) could very well make that the case. With the final movie in the series over with well into the night she tiredly returned to her room. As she moved to get off the couch she could feel her skin peeling off of the black leather as if it were able to breathe once again. She groaned quietly as she stretched while a few other teammates yawned as they got up. "I need to go to bed and never wake up," She said to them as Steve yawned and nodded to her statement. "I agree. It took forever to get through all of those. Why did we have to watch all three in one night?" "Because each ending was suspenseful so it needed to be done," Tony answered which gained an eye roll from Natasha in response. "Whatever the reason, it's over now. I need some rest," She said as she made her move to go to bed since leaving the area.

Each of the Avengers headed off to their own quarters after exchanging good night to one another. (Y/n) made her way back to her room, closed the door and immediately fell back on to her bed. She kicked off her socks, threw on a pair a (f/c) short shorts with a matching spaghetti top, and crawled under her sheets once back in bed. "I seriously feel like death right now," she muttered. In a matter of seconds, Skittles jumped up on to the bed and landed perfectly on to her stomach, causing her to force out a deep breath and then a groan. "Uggggaah, why do you do this to me every night? You have a cat bed!" She then turned on her side so the cat would roll off and lay beside her against her back. Once on her side her mind once again raced back to her lost moment with Loki. Even during the movies that moment was all she could think about. It also made her wonder when she would see him again. . . Maybe. . . maybe she would get to see him soon. . . .

The time on her alarm clock read 3:18 A.M. and the building was both dark and silent. Her cat had eventually moved to the foot of the bed while (y/n) rolled on to her stomach. The quiet atmosphere was as heavy as an awkward silence after a comment made at the wrong time. The lights of the city outside her windows were bright enough that they prevented anyone from seeing the stars in the night sky. Everything was peaceful for a time being. Two minutes had passed and she started to wake up in the middle of the night. As her groggy tired eyes began to open, she recognized the return of the eerie, unsettling feeling she had earlier while watching the first movie with the others on the couch. As the feeling became more and more heavy on her mind, her eyes snapped open when she felt someone watching her. He head quickly spun and looked around the room. She had hoped it would be Loki, but when her eyes fell on a shadowy figure in her mirror, her heart dropped and she felt her fear grab hold of her, keeping her paralyzed on the bed as she stared back at the figure in her mirror. It looked like the cross of a monster with an alien. A terrifying creature with the face of something skeletal like and armor that was eaten away at by time and the cold. The more she watched it the sooner she realized it was in fact a chitauri, one of the alien things that were after her and Loki. However, as she was ready to get out of bed to run it ran faster towards her, and another one of them had grabbed her from behind as it crawled out from under the bed. The one behind her quickly set her arms together in a set of cuffs that felt like they were made of a cross between metal and stone. Those unique cuffs subdued her abilities, making it difficult for her to fight back as she tried to struggle. Once she couldn't do much herself she tried to scream, but the other that was in front of her quickly sedated her, causing her limbs to go numb and her eyes to shut immediately after. Without a chance to see if others were in the room or figure out where she would be going, she fell unconscious and occasionally saw glimpses of the floor as she was dragged from her room to another hold into the night.

Into the next day, one of the Avengers, Steve to no surprise, was awake early on his way to the kitchen to start with breakfast before training. He pulled himself together in his usual uniform with his shield on his back as he moved through the hallway to the next floor below. As he looked down at a phone in his hand (one he was still trying to get used to) he saw an article on a news app about how his team was protecting a young writer from an alien threat. To no surprise, the comment threads in the report followed up with talk about conspiracy, plots and ploys, as well as other motives or rumors. One rumor suggested a relationship between her and one of the other Avengers since they were spotted at a club in the city a while back, and the photos taken were that of her and Steve. He smirked to himself and shook his head, but he did find the ideas amusing. Perhaps these ideas might be a good source of inspiration for her to write about. He decided he would stop at her room first before breakfast to show her the news, then maybe find a way to ask her to breakfast in the tower after. He wanted to talk more about her powers and possibly training with her in the future. Maybe these ideas he was having would work out.

Once he reached her floor, Steve proceeded to move towards her room down the hallway only to be stopped by Clint and Tony part way. "Hey," Clint sung to him in what was soon to be a teasing tone. "Looks like someone made the gossip column along with a certain someone," He said while Tony smirked as he walked forward as well. "Were you on your way there to tell her about the article and suggest making it a thing?" Tony asked which made Clint's smirk turn into a grin as he raised his brow up and down a few times, followed by a nudge. Steve rolled his eyes and glanced at his phone before looking back up at them, "real funny guys. I'm on my way to train for a bit," he replied.

"Ooohhhh, so they call it training now?" Tony teased, "Gotchya gotchya. Is that why you're on the guest level?" Clint went back to snickering and crossed his arms. "I think the soldier is in an awkward pinch," he added, but Steve kept his calm. "What makes you think that it has anything to do with her anyway? And why are you both on this floor if it's guests only?"

"You're changing the subject, that's cute," Tony said, "But if you must know, Jarvis alerted me to a security breach this morning and we wanted to make sure she was alright."

Steve then became suspicious, and a little unnerved as he took this in. "What time this morning?"

"About ten minutes ago. Image shows only a window open in her room. She probably triggered the alarm opening it but it doesn't hurt to check in especially after how distant she was last night," he concluded.

Steve looked at the two of them for a moment then at her bedroom door from down the hall. "Let's go find out," he said simply and pushed passed them to go to her room. The three stood outside her door for a moment before Steve knocked and asked her, "Hey (y/n), it's Steve, are you there?"

No answer.

"(Y/n)?" He asked again.

No answer. The three looked back at one another until Tony said, "She's probably just asleep still." Unconvinced, Steve added, "I'm coming in," before he opened her door and stepped into the room with the others where he found her cat laying at the foot of her bed. Steve took one look around the room as he called out, "(Y/n)?" but there wasn't an answer.

"(Y/n)?"
