The bus driver left Ezra, Lexia, and Dylan at the entrance to the Blue Mountains where they joined the persons that were camping there. In the evening the three of them walked off unnoticed by the other sleeping campers.

"Ezra where are we going?" asked a curious Lexia.

"Deep into the mountain to find the witch," She seemed to agree with him for a first because she no longer questioned him as they continued their journey. They reached what appeared to be the middle of the forest and stopped to wait for Dylan.

"Where is Dylan?" Ezra asked Lexia.

"Am I his keeper? You are the one leading this expedition so you should take account for your travelers." The agreement between both had diminished as soon as it had come.

"Lexia it is the middle of the night. I haven't the time for your foolishness. If anything happens to Dylan, I will not spare you because he is not as strong as we are."

As she was about to answer him Dylan came out of the bushes panting,

"Please remember that I don't have your vampire speeds, so you guys could do me justice by slowing down sometimes."

Ezra smiled at him but his smile quickly changed when Michael shouted in his head that something was wrong,

"Something is w..."

Before he could finish talking they were attacked. Dark-skinned men and women filled with strange tattoos attacked them and they grabbed Dylan. A female kicked him in the face and started beating him up and Ezra rushed over and snapped her neck. He took a closer look at her and discovered she was a mage. In these parts, they called witches mages.

"Thanks, man," Dylan stuttered and gave a quick smile with a bloody nose. Ezra quickly turned away because he could feel his blood lust at the edge and he didn't want it to be unleashed.

"Just don't get killed," he warned Dylan before walking away.

Ezra allowed his witch side, Michael, to take over so he could battle the mages. He closed his eyes and his sub-consciousness was pushed back and his eyes opened showing emerald which showed Michael had taken over. He summoned a rune that showed the symbol of a dragon roaring which caused animals to come from deep in the forest and start attacking the mages. In the midst of the fight, Dylan ran to the other side to get out of the crossfire and prevent himself from being killed. Being Death's son meant that he was supernatural but he knew part of him was human. As he tried to get to safety a mage attacked him and he began fighting her using Kung Fu because he had no true powers until his father unlocked them. Dylan felt immense pain in his head and he tried to fight it but he couldn't so he collapsed. The last thing he saw was a dark pit of darkness that engulfed his body rendering him and the mage that attacked him unconscious. He felt his body being thrown into a vortex and all he could do was fall. He came to stop on a beach where there were two lines. He stared blankly at the place and wondered where he was. The water wasn't blue but was slightly orange along with the sky and the boats were majestic. He saw a man on a black horse, the tallest horse he had ever seen. The horse's mane was long and thick and its eyes were scarlet. Its body was muscular and showed signs of heat radiating off it. On top of it sat a man wearing a black cloak and Dylan wasn't afraid as the man spoke to him; in fact, he was very calm.

"Dylan my son," he started.

"How did you know my name?"

"I know everything about you. I watched you grow up while I was held prisoner by Python."

"Who is Python?"

"Python is the vampire king and your friend Ezra's maternal grandfather. He captured me and took some of my blood to test on his daughter while she was pregnant with your friend. I managed to escape and was living in the hospital where your mother worked, and I fell in love with her but after you were conceived a fire broke out at the hospital and he found me again. I fought him but I was outnumbered and wounded, so I was recaptured. I have been placed in the spirit world where I am kept weak so that I cannot break free. I understand that you think you do not have any powers, but you do have your true power and will receive mine when you ascend after my retirement then you will become Death. Until then I will unlock your true powers."

Death touched Dylan's forehead and Dylan felt his body break free from an imaginary chain that held him down. He felt a searing pain as tattoos began forming on his chest and hands. The pain caused screams to escape his lips as Dylan started to feel a burning pain in his chest and his skin began to fall off.

"Don't fight it, Dylan, let the power consume you. Embrace it"

Dylan listened to him and when he looked up all his skin had fallen off and his shirt was bloody.

"Will, I ever have my normal skin?"

"Yes you will but whenever you call your sword, then you will take your true form. The sword resides within you until you call it."

Dylan looked down at the sword and admired it. It was a slender sword with a sapphire handle and the patterns matched the tattoos that had been placed on his hand. He picked it up and collapsed.

He woke up to see a mage stalking towards Lexia. The mage stared at Lexia and she fell to her knees holding her ears that started to bleed. Another mage with curly, dark brown hair and big bright brown eyes, along with a straight nose and semi-full lips came up and grabbed Lexia by the arm and put a knife with both sides sharpened at Lexia's neck. Dylan wondered if what he had experienced was a dream, but he quickly realized that it was no dream as he saw the blood on his shirt and the tattoos on his skin.

Ezra heard his inner wolf, Alrick, howl in excitement and he wondered how a slim girl like that could hold a vampire. She had chocolate skin and was dressed in a blouse that barely covered her top and a skirt that was made of cloth and leaves. When she spoke, it was like she was a living goddess. Her voice held so much power that Ezra wondered if a living goddess was even possible.

"If you don't stop killing my people I will end her borrowed life," she gave him a devilish glare and Michael relinquished his hold on the animals that retreated back into the forest. Ezra's subconscious came back, and he stared at the mage with the power-filled voice in anger.

The mage stared at Ezra and saw his tainted soul in the process. She was the daughter of the Grand White Witch and would become her successor in two years. The mage was not looking forward to her lineage as her mother's job was not an easy one. Her mother wanted her to take over this year, but the mage told her mother that she was not ready. Instead, she became the General for her mage army that her mother said they would not need. But here they were facing the apostle of death, a tribrid, and a vampire. Lexia was strong but the mage was stronger.

"Why are you here?" she directed her questions to the tribrid.

"I'm sorry for the intrusion but we traveled far to come here to see the Grand White Witch."

"My mother doesn't get visitors so go back."

Ezra tried to hide his shock that the mage before him was the daughter of the grand white witch, he did not know anything about the witch, but he was not expecting her to have a daughter.

"Please," he pleaded "she could help me find my mother."

She looked at him and he seemed genuine, so she dropped the vampire to the ground, and Lexia looked at the mage deviously.

"Okay follow me," she replied and walked off into the forest with her team surrounding them.
