It was a chilly and starry night with a mist hovering in the air that Ezra stirred miserably in his room. He decided to take a walk out of the hotel into the night in a bid to get some fresh air; the hotel air was feeling hot and irritating and his wolf had been acting strange which got the others riled up. He walked past the lanterns that barely illuminated the streets, luckily fireflies added to the road giving it a dreamy glow.  Ezra looked up to the sky and brought his jacket closer to his neck and proceeded to walk along the street. He had always wondered what it would be like to have a mate and whether or not he would be able to love her bearing the fact that he was on a quest to find his mother which would take up all his time and energy leaving no time to give his mate the love she deserved. He even wondered if a tribrid could have a mate. The attitude of his wolf as of late showed him that he did in fact have a mate and no doubt she was very close but he was now placed in an unfortunate situation because he had feelings for Lexia or so he thought. Heck he even wondered if this mate could tame his darkness so that it wouldn't kill anyone else but he knew that was a long shot.

"Will you shut up about this Lexia bitch, she's plotting against us and yet you still want her. I want my mate," grumbled Alrick.

William and Michael rolled their eyes at Alrick's pouting. The darkness shook his head and said,

"Alrick don't waste your time, humans are stupid so they don't realize the meaning of a mate. I personally want to see what she looks like. We already have enough vampire."

"Hey! I find that offensive Darkness. Who would want you as a mate? You'll end up tearing her up anyway," William fired back.

"You know William I might just tear you up. How'd you like that?" The Darkness sneered.

Ezra walked down the lonely streets of Romania lost in deep thought while his supernaturals had their own conversations about finding their mate.

Khadeen had just gotten off the plane that landed in Romania. She felt at peace as Romania had a comforting aura but it sometimes creeped her out. Tonight, however, it was as if all the forces of the universe were pushing to bring her here. She favored a coffee shop that was in this country and she liked it because it always had a peaceful aura to it and it pleased Shanakay, her dragon. Khadeen was a beautiful dark-skinned beauty that often wore her hair in braids but tonight it was in an afro because she wanted to let it air out. She had slightly light brown eyes that sparkled, a straight nose with a small ball at the end, and semi-full lips. She had high cheekbones and one dimple on her right cheek as well as a beauty spot on her face that was close to her right ear. Her ears had been pierced twice and she wore a hoop and a small earring in the second piercing as well as a necklace with the letter K as a pendant. At twenty years old Khadeen stood five feet ten inches tall with a small curvy body with just enough hips for her weight and small breasts that complimented her body well. She was wearing a black turtleneck sweater that stopped midway showing her flat stomach and black Adidas shorts with black thigh highs and small flat shoes. She walked to her Lexus RX 350 and sped off into the night to her favorite coffee shop to have some relaxation.

Half an hour later she arrived at the coffee shop called, 'A Touch of Dawn' and parked her car in the parking lot. She grabbed her Samsung Note 10 along with her black purse and walked inside the coffee shop then ordered French coffee with a lot of cream and cinnamon sticks. While sitting in the corner and waiting for her order to come, she listened to her inner dragon babble about their newest hotel that was set up in the Netherlands. Khadeen mentally smiled at her and was about to answer when she heard the doorbell chime and she stopped dead in her tracks.

Ezra was too busy lost in thought that when he came into the coffee shop he did not notice anything while his wolf was howling away. Ezra walked to the counter and slowly ordered a French coffee and collected it then walked through the shop's door. Khadeen watched him slowly as her senses intensified and she was lost for a moment that she couldn't move. He was so handsome she thought. Her senses peaked and she took a deep breath smelling the most intoxicating smell she had ever experienced. The strange man smelt of cinnamon and vanilla with a dash of chocolate. She almost fell out of her chair at her drooling of the strange man. She had to know who he was she thought. Forgetting her order, she chased after him when Shanakay screamed, "Mate!" For dragons, the mate bond was extremely intensified and if a dragon were to ever be rejected they could die and so could their partner. The more powerful the partner the greater the risk of death. She managed to catch a glimpse of him as he turned down a lonely street. She noticed he was going at a slow pace as he didn't even realize that she was following him and it was true because even now Ezra did not realize that she was chasing behind him as he walked aimlessly down the street sipping his coffee.

Khadeen looked around for a reason to get noticed by her mate who seemed to be lost in his own world and luckily for her she found a dragon hunter and smirked,

"Perfect."

She knew that her type of dragon was the rarest and the most prized achievement for dragon hunters so she decided to put herself at some risk hoping Ezra would notice even though she knew she would need no help. She casually walked past the dragon hunter and smiled menacingly while she flashed a part of her face covered with starry blue scales and a bit of red. The dragon hunter was startled and shook his head because he thought for sure that he was seeing things. He looked at her again and he saw the scales slowly receding from her face.

"An interstellar dra..dragon," he stuttered then he realized that she was the last of her kind so killing her would give him fame for sure. He walked after her firmly holding onto his weapon, an assassin blade. Khadeen giggled and walked aimlessly up to Ezra.

"Hey," she was about to pat his back when the dragon hunter grabbed her and pushed her into an ally. She faked the terror on her face while smiling slyly. The dragon hunter was confused but proceeded to corner her into an attack. He grabbed her throat and was about to plunge his blade into her when he was flung into the side of a trash can. He got up and held his side while looking at what happened. When he saw that there was another person there he sped off into the night.

"Are you okay?" asked Ezra as he held out his hand to Khadeen. When she smiled and took his hand the connection was instant. The electric blue in his eyes swirled and faded into an icy blue and that's when Ezra knew he had found his mate.
