It had been another night in the city of Enchanta which was filled with dancing and people enjoying themselves. It seemed to be a place where many people lived happy lives. It was not Utopia but there were no mad people roaming the streets like that in Jamaica. The place had been kept a secret for the longest while with the Tainos being the first to discover the place. It was hidden from everyone and everything and it grew over the years with each grand white witch having one child that takes over at the age of twenty-one. Isis's mother, Layla was now forty-five and she wanted to give it over to twenty-year-old Isis but Isis wasn't sure she was ready. She was already powerful but she had not ascended yet and she did not want to fail her mother. Mages ascended when they became twenty-one and for Isis that would be when she was to take over and she was nervous.

Being a strong-willed girl, she was more powerful than most of her previous grand white witches because her father had been a Titan called Oceanus. She was conceived when her mother had traveled to another realm at the age of twenty-six. She came back a year later and collapsed with Isis in her arms. She had been drained of her powers and bruised. No one asked any questions as Isis's grandmother had been killed so the people aided Layla in running the Kingdom. The people took care of her until Isis was five years old when her mother recovered. The mother had conveyed that information to everyone one night when Isis was asleep that Oceanus would not come looking for her as he no longer existed and warned the people that Isis must never know of her origin only that she lived here. The people kept this secret and none of the younger children knew of this. They protected everyone and the place blossomed in prosperity.

Isis first discovered a taste of her immense power when she was fifteen years old. It happened when she was playing in the water with her crush one day. Drayton kissed her for the first time but he pulled away suddenly when he saw that her eyes had become stormy blue and lightning flashed in them. There was a sudden roar from the sea and the water began to swirl fast and enormous waves crashed into him while pulling him away and deeper into the center where the water had made a hole like that of the eye in a hurricane. She screamed his name and tried to swim towards him but she wasn't fast enough. Luckily some people were watching and they alerted her mother who came and calmed Isis. Only then was the sea calm and Drayton was retrieved. He stayed away from Isis after that and she grew up to hate love.

Dylan noticed that his inner power, Alex, had been acting strange ever since he came to this place and even stranger when he was around Isis. He figured he needed to clear his head by seeing the sunrise so he awoke in the early morning so he could catch a glimpse of it on a cliff that he saw at the top of one of the hills. He climbed up the hill and tried to keep a steady hand because it was three in the morning which meant that he had little time before the sunrise but at this point, he was still in darkness. He finally got to the top nearly two and a half hours later and sat down on the cliff. The cliff overlooked the ocean and he was pleased with what he saw. For a brief moment, he saw a figure walking on the beach but it didn't seem like it was moving with any urgency, in fact, it was merely swaying in the breeze. Being Death's son didn't mean he had an impeccable vision so he couldn't really see who it was but he felt a sense of belonging. He leaned over to get a closer look but that was a mistake as he slipped off the cliff and began rolling. It all happened so fast, him rolling down the hill and his vision constantly blacking out. The last thing he saw was the figure change into water and the next thing it was beside him. Dylan blacked out a moment later.

The sun shone brightly in his face and he blinked a bit before closing his eyes again. He was in pain and the sun's rays weren't helping his situation. Dylan heard fighting but he wasn't sure he could get up to stop it. He heard Ezra's voice trying to dominate but there was another voice, the voice of a goddess. It was like the sound of the ocean, making a soothing sound that calmed all his nerves. Suddenly his pain became a distant memory and all he wanted to do was listen to that voice all day so he opened his eyes to make out what was happening.

"What the hell did you do to him you witch!" shouted Ezra.

"I saved his life arrogant fool. Maybe you should tell your friend to be more careful next time he decides to climb a hill in the middle of the night." The voice was the goddess's voice and Dylan couldn't help but smile. Her scent drifted to his nose and he inhaled and smiled, her scent was like vanilla mixed with chocolate.

He heard Lexia say, "He's awake" and Dylan smiled up at them.

All attention turned to him and he blinked at the sudden change in light and tried to understand what was happening around him more clearly. Lexia was now standing above him and studying him like she was studying a rare specimen. He pushed her from in front of his face and she fell on her ass. He struggled to get up and when he finally did he saw everyone staring at him. He looked at Ezra who seemed angry at the mage who he found out was named Isis. She was a vision of beauty and he felt that same sense of belonging that he felt when he was on the cliff. He wanted to hold her and hug her and in his still dazed mind Dylan held out his hands for her and her gaze softened for a second then they became hard again and she looked away. When he realized what was happening Dylan drew back his hand and realized he didn't trust her because witches were not to be trusted. She glanced at him with hateful eyes as if she could hear his thoughts and he looked away.

"Are you okay Dylan?" asked Ezra.

"I'm fine. It's just a scratch no big deal." He got up and did a little dance to show that he was okay.

Later in the evening, Dylan went for a walk on the beach because the sea kept calling to him. He walked with his head down and randomly kicked at the sand as he made his way to it. He saw Isis sitting near the sea looking out and he decided to sit beside her and try to change her opinion of him. He walked up to her and sat down.

"Hi Isis, how are you?"

"Just stop it, Dylan, you and I already know what we are," she replied.

Dylan looked at her confused, "Umm Isis what are you talking about?"

"I'm your mate, Dylan. Do you know what that means?"

Dylan chuckled nervously at her, "Isis that sounds weird. What are you talking about?"

"A mate is the person you're supposed to be with for life. You share a blood bond but the problem is I don't want a mate. I won't accept you as my mate Dylan" and with that, she got up and walked away.
