"Bay!" Lizzie screamed, as she quickly knelt beside her sister. She kept her neck stable with her hands as blood soaked into her skirt.

"All of you Stablers will fucking pay!" Walter yelled, before walking to his next hour as if he didn't just knock Bay unconscious.

"Maureen!" Lizzie cried as people gathered around the two girls. Lizzie was sobbing as she tried to get her sister to wake up. She gently ran her thumbs over her sister's cheeks but Bay wouldn't wake up.

"Everyone move," Maureen ordered, as she pushed her way to the center of the circle. She felt her stomach tighten as she looked at her youngest sister.

"Oh no. Someone get help!"

Maureen rode in the back of the ambulance with her sister. She watched as the EMT did CPR on her sister and she saw all of the blood. So much blood.

When they arrived at the hospital they pushed the gurney with Bay's body on it towards the trauma room. Maureen stayed right beside her as tears streamed down her cheeks. A nurse pushed her back and grabbed her arms before speaking as calmly as possible.

"We will help your sister, but I just need you to stay out. Call your parents, alright? Make sure they are here."

"She's being raised by my father and his girlfriend... can she see her?"

"Is she her mother?" The nurse asked.

"She's going to be soon. They want to adopt her. Please let her see Bay. Please." Maureen begged.

"Of course."

The nurse ran into the room where Bay was being worked on, and Maureen quickly ran outside. She got sick before pulling her phone out and dialing her father's number. She held her phone to her ear as she wiped tears from her cheeks.

"Maureen?" Elliot questioned, as he answered his phone. He and Olivia had stopped to eat lunch, and they hadn't expected to get a call from Maureen.

"Daddy, Bay is really hurt. Walter slammed her head into one of the brick walls and she's at the hospital. I'm here with her, but she isn't breathing by herself. They had to do CPR the whole way." Maureen sobbed as she ran her hand over her face.

"What? Maureen!" Elliot yelled, as he quickly gathered his stuff to leave and his girlfriend was starting to freak out.

"Daddy, please just get here! Please!"

Elliot stood outside of Bay's hospital room as he watched Olivia sit beside her, her head resting on Bay's hand as she slept. The doctors have been in and out of her room, but they haven't been able to tell them anything other than that Bay was in a natural coma. There was nothing they could do for her other than wait and see. But that didn't mean that nothing was happening. The crew was currently interrogating Walter about why the hell he thought trying to kill Bay was the right thing to do.

The kids were sitting in the waiting room with Kathy, as all of them anxiously waited for news. Even Kathy was worried.

"Mr. Stabler?" A nurse asked quietly. Elliot turned around and looked at the young woman.

"Yeah?"

"We are going to take Bay down for an MRI and a CAT scan. We will have her back in about two hours." She breathed, and Elliot nodded.

"Okay. Uh, let me go talk to Olivia." Elliot spoke. He opened the door and quietly walked over to where his girlfriend sat. He gently ran his hand over her back before squatting down beside the chair.

"Liv?" He questioned.

"Elliot?" She whispered as she opened her eyes.

"Yeah. They are going to take Bay down to get some tests done."

"No. I'm not leaving her," Olivia replied, stubbornly.

"Yeah, you are. I'll carry you out of her. She will be back in two hours, and then you can come back here and sit with her." Elliot spoke. Olivia swallowed hard before standing. She placed a gentle kiss to Bay's forehead before leaning down to whisper in her ear.

"Bay, love, I love you. I'll be back in here as soon as I can. Please just keep breathing. Keep fighting. I want to see you again."

Bay's brain waves weren't normal. They weren't coming as often as the brain waves of a normal person in a coma. But Olivia wasn't going to lose hope. She wasn't going to let her daughter die.

They went along with their plan to adopt her, and since it was under special circumstances, the judge went to them and finalized it. It allowed Olivia to help decide exactly what to do with Bay when the doctors ask what the next step they wanted to take was.

Weeks went by, and Bay was still in a coma. Her siblings went and sat with her after school, and Lizzie kept talking about what she was missing in her classes.

Lizzie felt horrible about what happened. She hated that she couldn't have stopped Walter from hurting her. That she even let Bay get hurt in general.

"I thought you went home." Olivia breathed, as she walked into Bay's room and looked at Lizzie.

"I was supposed to, but I can't leave her," Lizzie whispered. Olivia went over and pulled a chair up beside Lizzie and gently ran her hand over her back.

"You know it wasn't your fault, right?" Olivia asked.

"How can it not be my fault?" Lizzie whispered.

"Because you didn't do anything. Walter, that bastard, was angry because I reported him to the school. You were just being her sister. You stayed beside her and you held her head in place. You helped her, Liz. So don't feel guilty." Olivia spoke, before leaning over and kissing her cheek gently.

"What if she dies?" Lizzie whimpered.

"She won't. I won't let her. She's gone through so much, and she has so much to live for. They said she may not be the same, but she'll be alive and she'll be Bay."

"Can I stay here tonight with you and her? Please."

"It's okay with me. Go call your mother and see, but I'll get another blanket and you can sleep here."
