Wes went downstairs to get him and Bay something to drink, and he decided it was time to talk to Olivia about what Bay had said. She was listening to a new record he had brought over for her to play on her record player, so Wes had plenty of time to talk to Olivia. He walked into the kitchen and awkwardly cleared his throat because Olivia was talking to her unborn baby because she didn't have anyone else to talk to.

"Hey, Wes. Come to raid my kitchen?" Olivia asked, as she looked over at him get into the cabinet and grabbed two cups.

"Of course. Why else would I be here?" He smirked. She laughed softly and watched as he grabbed the gallon of milk. He poured it into the two cups before putting it back. Then he spoke.

"Olivia?" He asked since Olivia and Elliot told him to call them by their first names.

"Yeah, honey?" Olivia replied with a small yawn.

"Can I talk to you about Bay real quick? I don't want to stress-"

"You won't stress me out. I want to know what is happening in her life and what she won't tell me." Olivia replied.

"She isn't taking her medicine anymore because she is scared that she will get addicted and that it will lead to something harder and more addictive," Wes spoke. Olivia eyed him because she thought he was lying. But as she looked at him, she noticed that he wasn't lying. His eyes held sadness, something she really doesn't see often in Wes' bright and often cartoonish eyes.

"Because of Loren being an addict, she thinks she will be too, huh?" Olivia questioned, and Wes nodded.

"It is genetic in some ways, but it's not like someone who has a murderer as a father, will be a murderer too."

"I agree because my father was a rapist and my mother was a drunk, but I'm neither," Olivia spoke. She doesn't talk about her parents that often, and Wes was shocked that she was talking to him about it.

"Are they the reasons why you are a detective?" Wes asked, and Olivia nodded.

"Yeah, they are. And I wish that I would've known Bay before I first met her, because then maybe she wouldn't have gotten raped."

"If I ever meet that guy, I'm gonna cut his dick off. Trust me." Wes sighed, before hearing Bay call his name. He grabbed the cups before smiling a bit.

"Can we keep this between us? I can't lose your daughter. I love her too much." Wes breathed.

"Of course, Wes. I'll talk to her about it, but we will just say I figured it out myself." Olivia spoke.

"Wes, get your butt up here! I need to complain about this freaking record!" Bay called.

"Sometimes I wonder why I love her... she is kinda mean to me sometimes." Wes laughed softly.

During dinner that night, after Wes went home, Olivia decided to talk to Bay about what Wes told her. But she was going to keep her promise and say it was her thoughts. She was going to wait and talk to Elliot first about it, but he was at work and she didn't want to wait any longer.

"Mind passing me the salt?" Bay asked, as sat her cup down and looked at her mother. Olivia handed the salt shaker to Bay before she started to talk.

"So, I was wondering what you thought about genetics..." Olivia trailed off.

"What about it? Are you hoping that Noelle doesn't end up getting Dad's nose?" Bay teased.

"No-"

"What about his hairline?" Bay continued, as she started to laugh. Olivia smiled softly at her daughter before admitting she was right.

"Okay, yes I'm hoping she takes after me a bit more than your father. But I'm just wondering about like if you think that if one of your ancestors does something if you might do it too." Olivia spoke.

"I don't know. I don't think that really runs in your genes. Like, I'm more worried about the cancer on Loren's side of the family." Bay spoke. Olivia had to admit that she was worried about that too.

"Like, what about me? How my mother favored the bottle, and how my father was a rapist?" Olivia questioned. Bay shrugged a bit.

"You aren't a rapist or a fall over drunk," Bay replied.

"No, I'm not. Thankfully. But do you think it might apply to some other people?" Olivia pushed on.

"Remind me to cut Wes' ponytail off." Bay sighed, knowing right then and there that her mother was asking her these things because the big blonde goofball she was dating had brought it up to her.

"Huh?" Olivia asked.

"Mom, he told you about what I was fearing. I didn't want him too." Bay groaned.

"He loves you and wants to make sure that if I can, that I help you. He wants to help you too." Olivia breathed. Bay sank in her chair as she let out an upset groan.

"He is such a nuisance. Mom, I'm okay."

"I want you to start taking your medicine again. Okay? Just once a day to take the edge off." Olivia spoke, as she set her fork down and looked at her daughter. Bay pushed herself up and shook her head.

"No, Mom. I'm not going to do that." Bay replied, and Olivia's eyes went wide before she raised one of her eyebrows.

"Excuse me, Bay? Did you just tell me no?" Olivia spoke, as she tried to keep her voice steady.

"This is my body, and if I don't want to fill it full of chemicals to just make my pain ease for a bit."

"That is the point of the medicine, Bay!" Olivia yelled. Bay went silent before swallowing hard.

"I'm sorry. You are supposed to stay calm... you are supposed to not be stressed."

"Bay-"

"I can't cause you to get sick again. I'm sorry. I'm going to go out back and calm down for a bit. If you need anything at all, just tell me... I'm sorry, Mom." Bay rambled before she stood and walked slowly out of the kitchen. Olivia leaned back and ran her hands through her hair and groaned deeply.

That is not how she wanted the talk to go.
