Bay didn't put the necklace on. She just shoved the box into her purse before heading to her car. Bay watched as her father drove out of the parking lot, and then she got into her car. She didn't know why he had to come to her school and give her a necklace that she didn't even deserve. She didn't know why he had to show up and not just call her. Bay drove to the gym where she was meeting Maureen, but she didn't know if she should just give Maureen the necklace or keep it a secret.

"You're late," Maureen smirked, as Bay joined her by the treadmill.

"Yeah, I am. But it's because Dad showed up at school." Bay replied, and Maureen's eyes went wide.

"What? What did he say to you?" Maureen questioned rapidly.

"Mo, he gave me a necklace from his mother. The one that I have never met. He said that he is proud of me, but look how fucking long it took him to realize that I'm someone to be proud of." Bay breathed. Maureen frowned before stepping forward and hugging Bay tightly.

"Just ignore him, Bay. He's a monster, and he deserves to be ignored for a while. To feel like you did. Imperfect. Unwanted." Maureen replied.

"Maureen, I want you to have the necklace. You are the oldest daughter and honestly, you probably should have gotten married first."

"And have you doing that dating thing with Wes when we all know you should be married to him?"

"He's even more of a pain in the ass since I married him. So, I'm gonna go find my knee brace to see if that will help more." Bay spoke.

"I'm just glad you took more of your recovering into your own hands, Bay! Because since you and I started to work out together, you are moving so much better!"

Maureen took the necklace from Bay but said she refused to wear it. She'd keep it safe until she could give it back to their grandmother. But Bay said she wanted to give it back because she wanted a chance to meet her grandmother.

"Mom?" Bay questioned, as she opened the front door to her mother's house. She could hear Noelle's giggling, so she headed into the house and up the stairs. She found her mother in Noelle's room as they sat on the rug playing with the nesting blocks.

"Hey, honey. I would have called back, but I didn't want to scare Noel. What's up?" She questioned, and Bay sighed.

"I saw Dad today... he gave me a necklace from his Mom. I don't even know his mother." Bay whispered.

"Bernie is an amazing woman, Bay. She is bipolar like Kathleen, but when she's on her pills she is pretty freaking amazing. She accepted me and was like a mother to me when I first met your father." Olivia spoke, as she reached out and brushed some messy brown hair away from Noelle's forehead.

"Yeah, but who says that she would even like me... she only gave me the necklace because I was Dad's first married daughter." Bay frowned. She sank down onto the floor behind her sister and reached out and gently messed with a short brown curl that was on the back of her sister's head.

"Where is the necklace? Because maybe she wrote-"

"There was no note. I gave it to Maureen. Either she or I am going to give it back to her. There is no point in me having it because at this point I'm not even Dad's daughter." Bay sighed. She reached out and pulled her sister onto her lap before leaning down and kissing the top of her head.

"You are still his daughter even if you don't want anything to do with him."

"I just wish you and I could have been a family... I love Noelle so much, but without him, you and I would have been completely happy."

"I'm happy right now, with you and Noelle. I'm lucky that your siblings prefer to be here with me." Olivia spoke.

"Mom, I'm going to go out and see Bernie... would you and Noelle like to join me?" Bay questioned.

"I think a road trip would be nice."

Olivia, Bay, Maureen, and Noelle drove out to Bernie Stabler's house. Bay sat in back with Noelle and kept her occupied while they drove. She was nervous and was scared that Bernie would just slam the door in her face when she saw her.

"Here we are. Bay, honey, can you grab Noelle and her diaper bag? I'm going up to talk to Bernie real quick." Olivia spoke, as she parked the van. She and Maureen got out and walked up the path, while Bay hesitantly got out and got Noelle out and grabbed her diaper bag. Bay held Noelle close and placed her on her hip as she headed up the path.

Bay stopped when she saw an older woman open the door. From where she stood, Bay could see the Stabler blue eyes. Bay bit her lip when the older woman hugged her mother and her sister, but then she froze in the doorway when she saw Bay and Noelle.

"Are you Bay?" She questioned, and Bay nodded hesitantly as she walked up the path.

"I am," Bay whispered. Bernie looked her over before looking at the baby.

"And who is she?" Bernie questioned, and Olivia smiled as she took Noelle back.

"This is your youngest granddaughter, Noelle. Do you want to hold her?" Olivia asked, and Bernie nodded quickly.

They went inside and Bernie paid all of her attention to Noelle and Maureen. Olivia knew that Bernie would want to get to know Noelle, but she was hoping that she would also want to get to know Bay too.

Bay sat and played with the necklace box and when she got a little annoyed of being ignored, she stood and handed the box to Bernie.

"I can't accept this. I don't think that I deserve this." Bay spoke, and Bernie looked up from Noelle and at the granddaughter, she had ignored this whole time.

"You are the first of my Elliot's daughters to get married. It's yours." She replied, but Bay shook her head.

"I think that it would be better if one of his actual daughters got it. Like the ones, you know and love. It's being wasted on me. So, uh, please have it back." Bay spoke. Bernie took it back and sat it beside her on the couch before looking back at Noelle. Bay swallowed hard before turning and grabbing her phone. She walked out the front door as tears ran down her cheeks.

She just didn't understand the Stablers.
