Jac teamed up with Evie, Emma and Ella
Girls vs boys
Almost inevitably the girls won
"Well you had an extra person on your team it's not fair. And one of our team was Theo" Mikey complained
"Who answered the question about the lion king" Fletch pointed out "come on mate you know we don't do bad losers in this house"
"Sorry" Mikey said sheepishly
Jac smiled at the scene. Fletch has done a good job with the 4 of them after his ex wife died. It was hard to believe that the man swinging his youngest son round in the air was the same man who cheated on his wife and lost all this.
Who's to say he wouldn't do it again. Difficult with them working together but in fairness, apart from Abigail she hadn't heard of any other women in his life since Natalie.
"Earth to Jac" Fletch called
"Oh sorry I was miles away" shaking her head to rid it of thoughts of his past
"Emma was just asking if she could FaceTime Jonny. It'll be mid morning there now"
"Of course, get the i pad baby"
Emma went off to contact her father
Jac joined Fletch at the kitchen table with a bottle of fizz
"So what wee you daydreaming about just then"
Jac laughed "you actually"
"Well of course" he grinned
"I was thinking that I couldn't imagine you being the same man who cheated on his wife and lost all this"
"Wow where did that come from" Fletch blushed "listen Jac I'm not proud of myself for what I did to Nat and our family but I can't change the past. Are you worried I'm going to do the same to you?" He reached over and took her hand
Jac shrugged "I suppose not" she said unconvincingly
"Jac believe me this leopard has changed his spots. When I became all these four had I made a decision to sort myself out. You are the only woman they've seen me with since their mother. I think you're a massive hit with them. I understand why you find it hard to trust anyone but please trust me. You can trust me"
"I trust you more than I have anyone. Just forget it"
Fletch studied her face
"Jac one of your wishes was that this would last forever"
"You know what I meant" she was hoping he wouldn't bring that up again
"Jac my last wish is this" he pulled out the small velvet box "my wish is that you'll say yes to the question that goes with this"
He opened the ring box. Jac's eyes widened
"Fletch it's too soon" she whispered
"I know" he didn't move
"It's a beautiful ring"
"It was my grandma's. I never even offered it to Nat. She wasn't really into vintage"
"Fletch I can't accept your grandmother's ring that's really special"
"Well like I say I've never wanted to give it to anyone before . I think we're special after all we've been through together"
"Cheesy" she grinned
"So what's you answer Jacqueline?"
