"The key to a man's heart is through his stomach!" Tao declared confidently over the phone.
Luhan frowned.
"Isn't that for couples, Tao?" he asked sceptically
"Well, you want Suho hyung to accept you right?" Then you need to win him over. What better way than food? Who cares about the couples details! As long as it works!"
Luhan bit his lip as he allowed himself to be convinced by his best friend. He really wanted Suho to accept him as a brother. He had seen the warmth in Suho's eyes when EXO had invited themselves over for dinner one week. He didn't talk to them much but he had small smile as he watched them banter across the dining table. He had even laughed at Chanyeol and Baekhyun when they were fighting over the last piece of chicken. Luhan had watched as he hugged them all in the hallway when they left. Suho had stood in doorway till they were all in their car and on their way home.
That warmth, that care disappeared when he realised Luhan was still standing in the doorway watching him. Suho wished him a curt good night and walked away.
Luhan still felt a pang in his heart as he relived the memory. He thought about Tao's suggestion. He realised Suho didn't really dine at home and Xiumin had told him that Suho tends to skip lunches. And he suddenly remembered a promise he had made his mom when he was five years old. He had promised her that he will take care of Suho Hyung when he is able to.
Luhan nodded his head in resolution. He had nothing to lose - he might as give it try. Luhan headed to kitchen determinedly.

Mr Kwon stared at the young man standing in his kitchen. Except for staff, no one had ever set foot in his kitchen in the longest of time.
"Young master Lu, you want to cook?"
The boy nodded his head firmly.
"Yes, sir. But..." Luhan gave a sheepish grin. "I'm not good at it. I can only cook instant noodles."
Mr Kwon snorted in contempt.
"Pouring hot water into a cup isn't cooking!" he declared.
Luhan nodded once more in agreement.
"So, Mr Kwon? Will you teach me?"
Mr Kwon studied the boy quietly.
"Very well." He sighed. "What would you like to cook young master?"
"Something Suho Hyu- Suho Shi likes."
If Mr Kwon was startled by how quickly Luhan replied, he didn't show it. He nodded. It had been quite a while since he cooked for the young master who only eats his meals at home when EXO comes over. He knows the members make an effort to come over every week so as to make sure he eats properly.
"Well master Lu, let's get started."
Mr Kwon watched as Luhan frowned in concentration as he diced the onions carefully. He remembered how Suho used to hang out in the kitchen a long time ago. Suho would smile and chit chat with staff casually as he went about fixing his own lunch or bringing a recipe to Mr Kwon to try. That all stopped the day his mother left. He sighed sadly. How he for the old Suho to return instead of the new cold young man who doesn't even acknowledge the staff in his home with a smile.
"Mr Kwon, will this do?" Luhan's voice broke into his reminiscing.
"Yes. Let's start on the steak shall we, Master Lu?"
