Chapter 10

Dinner was quiet unlike other days. Though the other EXO members would rather not be anywhere near Suho's father and his girlfriend at any time, they wanted to be present in order to ensure that Luhan didn't get bullied.

Luhan looked around the quiet table, puzzled as he sat down for his own meal. Suho had ensured that youngest one sat far away from his father as possible not that it would help.

"Sorry, I'm late!" a low voice broke the silence as Sehun strode in rolling up his flannel shirt sleeve.
" Lost track of time in the library!", he explained.

Candy who had been trying to get Kai's attention sat up as soon as she laid eyes on the newcomer. She bit lower lips she stared at him unashamedly.

Luhan gave him a smile as he patted the seat next to him.

"You are just in time, Sehun!"

To the astonishment of EXO, Luhan turned to Kim Jun with a smile.

"This is Sehun." He introduced the other who gave Kim Jun a small bow. "He takes care of Suho shi's medical needs."

Kin Jun cast Sehun a look of disdain.

"Isn't he too young to be doctor? I want the most experienced one for Suho."

Sehun simply huffed.

"Sure, and I want dinner. What are you feeding me today HanHan?"

"Stir-fried chicken, rice and peppered broccoli"

"Sounds good, Luhan. I want double portions!"

Baekhyun's spoon clattered to his plate in shock.

"Th...These two..."

Chanyeol handed Baekhyun's spoon back into his loosely clasped hands.

"Are formidable." He completed the sentence as he did so.

The both of them stared in awe at Luhan and Sehun. The rest of exo were just as surprised as they exchanged glances with one another surreptitiously.

Kim Jun bristled at how he was brushed off. His ears were red with anger but he refused to back down. Kim Jun forced a smile as his eyes glinted with anger, determined to hurt the two younger boys who seemed oblivious to his frustration. He watched as Luhan and Kyungsoo both served Sehun his meal. Kim Jun waited for them to settle down before he passed his next comments.

"So I heard you were an unwanted child too, Sehun." He said laughingly.

Sehun stiffened slightly as he stared at his plate, hurt shooting through him. Suddenly, he felt a warm hand on his wrist. Surprised he glanced at Luhan who continued to drink his soup not showing any reaction to Kim Jun's words. And Sehun understood immediately the message the other was sending.

Don't get riled up and give Kim Jun the satisfaction of having reacted the way he expects us too.

Sehun directed a smile at a surprised Kim Jun.

"Yes, I guess I was." He answered softly. "But I didn't let it stop me."

Chen smiled to himself as did Xiumin at the answer.

"I'm adopting him" Baekhyun declared softly to Kyungsoo who rolled his eyes.

Luhan gave Sehun's wrist a squeeze before removing his hand.

Kim Jun collected his wits quickly. Frustrated by both Luhan and Sehun, he searched for another target. He smirked as his gaze fell on Kai who was frowning at his plate. As long as Kim Jun knew, Kai had always reacted strongly to his words .Either in tears when he was young and in anger as he grew up.
