Part 17

Luhan's eyes widened at the amount of food on the table.

"So much!"

Baekhyun smiled as he put some chicken on Luhan's plate.

"You probably haven't eaten well for awhile now with all the stress. So eat now ok?"

They ate in content silence until Luhan broke it.

"I get that Candy tried to frame me but how did the vial on my suitcase turn out to be water." He asked.

Baehyun smirked.

***Flashback***

"Soo!" Kai called out to the familiar figure that was standing out Suho's office, when they returned from the police station. Kyungsoo turned to them, his expression was grim as he nodded to the rest.

"So we have two witnesses who are willing to come forward to testify for us so long as their identity remains anonymous."

Chen nodded quickly," Their confidentiality can be arranged."

Kyungsoo passed him the file with the witnesss' details.

"Candy and her dad have been blackmailing them for years and they are tired of it."

Baekhyun just shook his head in disbelief.

"What greedy, conniving people! "

Chen sighed as he studied everthing he had on hand with regards to the case.

"We have evidence of her putting something in Suho's food. We have witnesses who can testify against her character."

He looked up at them.

"If we could only get the actual poison ..."

Chanhyeol looked thoughtfully out the window.

"Guys, If Candy wanted to frame Luhan, won't she tried to plant evidence on him too?"

Suho looked up at him.

"So you are saying that she may have planted a bottle of poison on Luhan?"

Chanyeol nodded.

"It's damning evidence, isn't it Chen? Cos no matter what, if that evidence is found on Luhan, it will paint a benefit of doubt on Candy and Luhan's postion could be worse!"

Chen nodded in agreement.

"We need to get it first before the police get a search warrant."

Kai's eyes strayed to Luhan's suitcase.

"Won't it be in there?" he asked soflty.

There was small pause before EXO scrambled to the suitcase. Baekhyun fumbled with it before cursing that it was locked.

Suho frowned, "Try 1402" he asked.

Baekhyun nodded as he locked in the code. There was a satisfying click as the case opened.

"How did you know, Hyung?" Kai asked.

Suho smiled sadly.

"It my mum's birthday."

The boys smiled sadly as they opened the case up. It was Sehun who stopped them.

"Wait! I have gloves.Let me go through it. "

The boys stood back.

"Sehun?" kyungsoo called to the doctor. "Could you feel around the lining? Look for tears or something bulky. I don't think Candy would hve put it in an obvious place."

Sehun nodded as he started to carefully fill the lining. He paused when he felt a tear in it. He carefully put his fingers in.
"Bingo! " he muttered as his fingers brushed against a cylinder.

Exo let out a collective breadth. Baekhyun smiled at Sehun.

"Bingo" he repeated.

Kai eyed it.

"So now what?"

Sehun smiled at him.

"We should return it back."

"So Sehun replaced it with water from the tap." Baekhyun explained.

Luhan nodded in awe. He smiled at Sehun in gratefulness who just blushed and focused on his food instead.

Kai chuckled.

"But we didn't stop there." He continued.

***Flashback***

Suho waited till the dead of the night before he walked into Candy's room. He casually donned on gloves and placed the original vial of poison in the back of her cupboard. Thus, effectively returning it back to the original owner. There was no evidenece that he had been in there when he left.

Luhan stared at Suho in awe who just like Sehun chose to focus on his food.

"AAAnd" Chanyeol continued.

"Soo was the one who tracked the doctor and the other two witnesses."

Kyungsoo muttered that it wasn't a big deal as he smiled at Luhan. They suddenly heard Luhan sniff.

"Thank you." He said it soflty but sincerely.

"I don't know how I can ever repay you."

Xiumin hugged him.

"We would do it again in a heartbeat."

The cozy moment didn't last long.

"Yaaah! Sehun! Why is so much spinach on my plate!"

Sehun shrugged.

"Heard it helps with brain growth!"

"Wha...Are you implying I am stupid?"

"Well,I was not the one trying to get myself arrested by acting stupid!"

"My intentions were noble!"

Soo sighed as she simply stuffed a dumpling into Baekhyun's mouth.

"Just...Shut up and eat."

He glared at Sehun as he held up another dumpling.

"Next will be you. Understood?"

Sehun nodded as he quickly shifted his focus to his plate yet again. The rest simply cuckled as they finished the rest of the dinner in peace.
Luhan hummed as he walked to the kitchen to make breakfast. He stood stunned at who he found in the kitchen. Suho was laughing as he chopped up a carrot while Mr Kwon was stirring a pot. Mr Kwon spotted him first.

"Oh Luhan. Glad to see you again, my son!"

Luhan smiled warmly at him as he ran in. Suho simply smiled at him.

"Why don't you go rest more? I got this."

Luhan shook his head.

"I'll take over, Suho shi. You just barely recovered."

Suho waved him away.

"I'm making breakfast today. You go and wake up Sehun."

Suho had insisted that both boys move back in with him, that very day Luhan was released. EXO was exhilarated as it meant that their friend seemed to be finally moving on. They all has the same question on their mind which was whether Suho had finaly accepted the young Luhan but they were afraid of the answer. So they took a step back and waited for a sign. They need not wait long.
