Chapter 7

"That car intended to hit Hyung."

Stunned silence greeted Kyungsoo's revelation.

"Wh...what?"

Kyungsoo nodded.

"Someone wanted to hurt...or kill Suho!"

Though Sehun was intrigued, he decided to give them some privacy.

"I'm going to go in and have a word with the doctor. And see if they have any updates"

He gave a polite bow and walked away. The others barely registered him leaving. The silence was deafening until Luhan broke it.

"The CCTV footage would show who it was right?"

Kyungsoo shook his head grimly.

"The car windows were tinted and the licence plates were removed. All we have is the make of the car. And I can bet with you that same car is probably in a scrapyard or abandoned somewhere already!"

Luhan looked around at the rest of them. He wondered why they were so calm. Baekhyun smiled at him in resignation.

"It's happened before." He replied to the unspoken question in Luhan's eyes.

"There have been assignation attempts on Suho before; but the last attempt was 2 years ago. We thought the threats were over..."

The rest nodded almost absently lost in their own thoughts. Luhan was shocked. Someone had tried to kill his hyung before.

"Why would anyone try to kill him? Why...How?"

Xiumin's eyes glinted coldly.

"Cos his father made enemies everywhere!"

"Yeah." Kai sighed. "He has a knack for offending people and they think hurting Suho would hurt him!"

Chanyeol snorted in disbelief.

"Little do they know! He doesn't care at all!"

"So what are you going to do now?" A new voice broke in. They turned to look at Sehun who had returned.

Chen groaned in frustration.

"We can't do anything. We don't even know if the assassinations are from more than 1 person! And the lack of evidence always means the cops are powerless too"

Sehun nodded thoughtfully.

"Private investigators?" he asked.

"We tried, kid!" Baekhyun. "Wild goose chase!"

"Don't call me kid!"

"And the worse thing is Suho refuses bodyguards!", Chen cut in disrupting the potential argument that was brewing between Sehun and Baekhyun.

"I'll protect him!" a voice declared quietly.

They turned to look at Luhan who was staring at the floor. Luhan looked up at them his eyes full of determination.

"I don't know how. But I'll protect him. I'll protect him with everything I have!"

EXO exchanged glances. An unspoken conversation seemed to taking place. Sehun watched them curiously. It seemed to him that they were planning something. He rolled his eyes.

"Then Lu, you will need to move in with your hyung!" he stated.

"YAH!" Baekhyun burst out. "That's my line! I was going to say that! You...you ...kid!"

"Whatever."

Chen smiled gently at Luhan.

"You'll move back home, Lulu?"

Luhan nodded. Sehun sighed.

"When will we be moving?"

Luhan looked at him startled.

"Se...Sehun?"

"Your brother has a broken shoulder and broken ribs. His pelvis is bruised as well. He's lucky he doesn't' need surgery!"

The group breathed out in relief. Sehun continued.

"He will need to be on full bed rest. And he needs to be on intravenous antibiotics for at least the next 2 weeks to prevent any infections. Plus he needs physiotherapy to prevent stiff shoulders and lung infections. That means he requires constant medical care. Keeping him in a hospital which has more public access poses more danger to your brother. So moving him back home where you can control visitors is the best option. I can help with the medical care."

Luhan smiled at the last part while the rest of EXO gaped at the tall boy.

"Why don't just admit you worry about me?"

Sehun held a finger, his face expressionless.

"And I can save the money I pay for rent and use it for my fees so I can do better in my studies. Plus, my body only accepts food cooked by Luhan."

Sehun turned his gaze to Luhan.

"Also you owe me an explanation. You told me you were an orphan like me. But it seems like you have more than enough hyungs who care for you!"

He gestured at the group. Xiumin studied the younger one quietly. Nothing about Sehun screamed dangerous. If anything he had a good feeling about the boy who had so gently managed to calm Luhan down. The concern he had for Luhan was genuine. Besides, Xiumin knew that before the night ends, Chen would have run a background check on him. Xiumin's eyes met Chen's and he nodded subtly at the latter. Chen smiled in acknowledgement.

"It sounds like a plan then. Both of you are moving in!" he declared.

Kai, Kyungsoo and Chanyeol accepted the decision knowing that their hyungs knew what they were doing. Baekhyun was the only one who objected.

"WHAT! That KID move in with Luhan. Unacceptable! No way! He'll eat all the food! I have never tasted Luhan' cooking. Yah! Kid! Did you just roll your eyes at me?"

"Yup!"

Kai snickered as Baekhyun sputtered indignantly earning a glare from the diva. Sehun turned to smile at the rest, ignoring Baekhyun.

"I guess you have two body guards now!"
