Suho basked in the sunlight. Sehun had finally deemed him fit to be allowed out in the garden and it couldn't have come a day earlier.
Xuimin was going through the business matters that needed his direction. He almost tuned his father's voice out as well as the older sat with them giving instructions. Kim Jun had decided to extend his by another week much to chagrin of EXO. It was simply because Candy had wanted to catch the fashion week in Seoul. She was trying to pressure Baekhyun to give her a spot on the runway which the appalled designer had been gracefully refusing.
Suho looked up to see Luhan in the balcony watering the plants as he chatted with the gardener. There was a warm feeling in his chest as he watched the younger boy laugh at something the gardener said as he adjusted the potted plant that was placed on the parapet. He saw Candy lounging on the balcony giving an annoyed look to Luhan.
"So Xiumin, get that done. ", instructed Kim Jun as he stood up, indicating that the meeting was over.
He followed his son's gaze to where Luhan was standing next to the pots of plant and frowned.
"Has that orphan readied lunch yet? What is he still doing, pandering around the balcony?"
Both Suho and Xiumin froze in anger but chose to keep quiet. The trio began their walk back to the house Kim Jun strode ahead while Suho and Xiumin trailed after him, still discussing some details of the discussion they just had. By instinct, Xiumin looked up and his eyes widened in horror as he pulled Suho back.
The pot the Luhan had been tending to just minutes crashed to the ground inches from Suho had stood just a second ago. A horrified silence fell on everyone.
Suho heard a gasp from above. The trio looked up to see Luhan, the gardener and Candy looking over the railing with shock written on their faces. Luhan disappeared and Suho knew he was running down to see him.
"What the hell...Suho, are you ok?"
"Yeah, thanks Min." Suho breathed out shakily.
"Suho shi! Suho Shi! Oh my gosh! Are you alright!"
Luhan yelled as he came running only to find a tight grip on his arm preventing him from reaching Suho. He gasped in pain and surprise at tight grip and he looked up into the furious eyes of Kim Jun.
"What the hell are trying to do?" he asked through gritted teeth.
Luhan shook his head in puzzlement.
"Wha..."
"YOU NEARLY KILLED MY SON!"
Luhan's eyes widened in fear.
"N...No. I didn't. I placed that pot prop...properly. I don't kn...know how it fe...fell"
Xiumin cursed under his breath as he recognized the familiar symptoms of the panic attack that Luhan had before in the ER. He started to approach Luhan but he was surprised when Suho reached him first. Suho wrenched Luhan from Kim Jun, glaring at his father as he did so.
He pulled the boy into his arms, hiding the younger one's face on his chest. He felt the shaky breadths from Luhan as he made soothing noises while rubbing his back.
"Hey, Lu. I'm ok. It's fine!" he kept reassuring the shaking boy in his arms. "I need you to take deep breadths. Nice and slow"
He looked up as his father just walked away. His arms tightened around the smaller boy.
"Nice, Slow breadths." He kept repeating, his eyes remained on his father's retreating back.
