Between my dad being in my ear, Harper basically saying we had no options and the media shitstorm that was about to happen, I was angry. I had no one to blame but myself either.

It was around 12:45 , and I still hadn't left my home office, when I heard someone come in. "What do you want?" I seriously didn't want to be around people right now. Imani just sat a mug of tea down in front of me and started massaging my shoulders.

"Do you want to talk about it?" She asked as she continued to give me a really good massage. I sighed, deciding I should just say something to someone.

"I'm about to lose a company."

Imani gasped, "Wait, a company? How many do you have?" I forgot she didn't really know what I do. So I explained to her.

"I own Howard Incorporated, and Howard Incorporated has a bunch of companies and businesses. So, malls, law offices, magazines, cosmetics lines, hotels, advertising agencies, basically, half of DC is Howard Incorporated." The look on Imani's face was priceless.

"Anyway, those businesses all have CEOs and execs, but they're not supposed to actually do anything." I looked to see if Imani was keeping up.

"The CEOs are puppets." She said quietly.

"Yeah. Anyway, one of the puppets embezzled about 4 million. Now, investors are pulling out and I'm fucked."

"I'm sorry, Nathaniel." Imani whispered.

"I'm about to lose $25 million, and all you can say is you're sorry? What are you good for?"

Imani got angry, fast. "What are you good for, other than trying to make people feel bad? I'm sorry that you're about to lose your precious company , but that didn't give you a right to talk to me like that."

I could feel my face turning red, I was so mad. Who did she think she was, talking to me like this? "You asked to talk about it Imani." I yelled at her.

"Next time, just talk to your fucking girlfriend, Nathaniel. Oh right, you're a miserable, lonely prick." She yelled back.

That's cause all women are the same. I wanted to say something, but instead I just went in one of my drawers and threw the $10,000 stack at her, and watched as she picked it up.

"All women are the same, lying money hungry gold diggers." I sneered at her.
