The long, extravagant, nude dress trailed behind me as my golden heels coincided with Aviary's. There was a large glass chandelier hanging above my head, sparkling through ever glass piece, glimmering through the entire marble foyer. It matched the elegance of the rest of the house.

Aviary had informed me that we were in her bosses house, greatly leaving me winded as the costliness had to have been colossal. It was breathtaking, having marble floors that appeared to be barely touched, absurdly clean white walls, and cultivating paintings that were framed with antique-looking frames. I wonder if she had met Kelton Jordan, the man that I met at that convention.

My mouth had to have caught flies right when I walked in, feeling sort of conscious of my every move. I didn't want to damage anything, knowing it would probably cost me my life savings.

"Let's get a move on, Amelia. I have to see if Gwen needs anything from me." Aviary wrapped her red polished fingers around my wrist, towing me behind her as we entered a populous room, immediately being drawn to the high ceilings and fetching chandeliers again. The layout was similar to a ballroom, placing most of the tables in the back (which were glass rounded tables) and having room for a dance floor in the front.

There was already a hefty amount of sophisticated people dancing ballroom style, while the others were chatting away or sitting at a table. Multiple waiters and waitresses were scrounging around, handing people wines and taking orders from the more expensive-tasting people.

Hell, I even grabbed myself a glass with my free hand, yelling a quick thank you to the waiter. Aviary exchanged some 'hello's' with people, but mostly ignored them, seemingly anxious to tend her boss. Finally, we came to a halt, and I managed to take a sip of my wine, glancing around as Aviary conversed with someone in front of her.

"I only need you to have fun tonight, my darling," A soothing, smooth voice spoke towards Aviary, making me have the urge to fall asleep, "You've done enough, and you deserve to have a night off."

"Thank you, Gwen."

I finally moved my eyes back towards Aviary, attracting my eyes to the left and seeing a beautiful woman that had to be in her fifties. The first thing that I noticed was her large, bulky diamond necklace, widening my eyes in surprise before feeling it was rude and looking up to her eyes. However, I wasn't met with her brown ones. Instead, she plumped her lips out in critique and gave me a once over, having this pleasant look on her face.

"Aviary, darling, who is this," She asked but didn't take her eyes off of me, bringing a charming smile to her red lips.

"This is my best friend, Amelia," Aviary informed, and Gwen outstretched her hand, lightly grasping mine and shaking it.

"Amelia," She repeated, "A beautiful name to match a beautiful girl. My name is Gwen Ferava."

I pulled a genuine smile to my face, flattered that she thought highly of me, "It's a pleasure to meet you."
