Have you ever wanted to cross a path you knew you weren't supposed to travel on; watching it with pure resentment in your eyes because you wanted it oh so badly. There's this conscious sense of unforgivingness that comes along with it, that you're just so blind to because the possession you want is your only focus.
It's painful, yearning for something so bad that your stomach starts to turn in anger. You try your best, trying to invent ways that it would be okay and that nobody would be affected but in actuality, you could possibly hurt the ones closest to you. It could damage relationships you already worked so hard on, and even ruin the commitments you desperately acquired.
All for that one desire you couldn't keep to yourself.
It's selfish, essentially, but merely impossible to compose yourself from.
Discipline is very hard to achieve, but when you do, it's almost like you're invincible.
I was one of the blind, thoughtless to the consequences but satisfied with the achievement.
There was this slight throb, echoing in the back of my head as my hurried footsteps placed themselves outside his unapproachable door.
I had been late. My alarm never sounded due to the sizable amount of alcohol I had consumed, leaving me doused over the edge of the couch. It was quite unnerving, seeing as Mr. Vallette and I's association had been quite tense at the moment.
I couldn't find myself to grasp the motionless door handle, knowing I would probably get a unapproving gaze or a slight scold. James had been stern that way.
But I huffed, knowing in the back of my mind that the longer I waited, the later I would appear. Thus I gripped the cold handle, slowly swinging it open and hearing the hinges squeal in acknowledgement. It made my presence known.
When I fully penetrated the room, his piercing blue eyes snapped towards me. He had been standing against his file cabinet, having this distressed hue in his eyes as he slowly grazed down my body like he had done regularly now. It was like he wanted to taunt me, though I had never committed anything against him.
He broke the contact and turned back to the files, "You're late."
I shut the door, hearing the slight click echo through the room. "I'm sorry, sir, it won't happen again."
He plucked one of the papered folders out, shutting the metal cabinet a little too hard for my pounding head. He glanced towards me as I stood against the wall, having my fingers knitted painfully tight together.
He was more handsome than usual today, having his chocolate hair sitting voluminously on his head while his five o'clock shadow accented his face. His all black attire fit him tightly, emphasizing his fit figure. I couldn't possible keep my eyes to myself today.
